"Are you scared?"

With Charles’s knowledge, it was hard to understand how this steel beast operated. In his worldview, the land cruiser was akin to a giant demon dragon, and the firearms in the hands of the xican soldiers were just crossbows.

They had faced such enemies before—the warriors of the Heavenly Lord feared nothing!

"Scared? What a joke!"

Orhan, riding on the back of a Sharp Claw Dragon, scoffed, choosing not to argue further. In his eyes, the soldiers under His Majesty the Emperor were a bunch of fanatical peasants, far inferior to the Imperial Guard he had built with his own hands.

"Quick, aim at the enemy and fire!"

Aboard the land cruiser, the great dictator was no longer as calm and collected as before. He yelled orders for the British advisors to open fire.

If the enemy were just a single demon dragon, allowing the soldiers to scatter wouldn’t matter; they could regroup later. In the vast expanse, only soone without sense would beco a deserter.

But now the Texans’ cavalry had arrived. If the new troops were allowed to scatter and flee, the cavalry could charge in, resulting in a massacre.

Peering through binoculars from the land cruiser, an advisor shouted back, "Mr. President, the enemy is not within our range yet. Firing now will just waste artillery."

Porfirio raised his voice, "Follow my orders. Even if we can’t hit the enemy now, at least show my soldiers the power of this giant!"

With a thunderous roar.

A cannonball exploded in front of the Texas cowboys, causing a stir among the cavalry ranks. Fortunately, the first shot was just for calibration, and the distance was great enough that it only created a terrifying crater a hundred ters in diater on the open ground.

The Crusader Knights from the Middle Ages instinctively swallowed a gulp of saliva.

"This trial seems even harder than the last one."

"Since it’s a trial, it’s never easy."

...

From within the ground’s fissures erged a thick atmosphere of doom, forming dark clouds, and from the abyss ca ear-piercing roars, as if so filthy creature was trying to breach the space and reach the human world.

"Hellish breath, these stinking bugs full of death indeed have a connection to hell."

"Hurry, boss, get that Holy Knight of yours into the fight; this is her specialty!"

Losa raised his hand and unleashed a Holy Fla, repelling the approaching evil spirits. Then he lightly stomped on Ladon’s spine, causing it to sink—a stomp powered by the "Demon Warrior’s" talent, leaving a heavy impression.

They say washing clean weakens by three parts. Since Ladon was "washed clean," it wasn’t just three parts weak; its strength declined, and it frequently shirked its duties. Take the evil spirits attacking it—Losa refused to believe Ladon couldn’t handle these small things, yet needed him to personally step in.

"The boss is angry, don’t slack off, brothers!"

"Ha, I actually found these little things gnawing on quite ticklish and comfortable."

"Die, die, die, perish!"

The three dragon heads held nothing back, flas erupted from its body, turning the giant dragon into a descending teor of fire. In a blink, the evil spirits surrounding it had all turned to ashes.

anwhile, a gigantic hand grabbed the edge of the ground fissure.

That hand, rough and veined like a vine, bore claws sharp as blades, cloaked in clouds of venom. The mont it appeared, the burning Dragon Fla on the ground suddenly extinguished.

Countless charred semi-transparent spirit bodies wailed as they were absorbed into the hand, then the terrifying demon that erged from the fissure stuffed them into its mouth, chewing quickly.

Clearly non-corporeal souls, yet as it chewed, it sounded like gnawing on live humans, bones and blood crunching loudly—a horrifying sight that frightened every observer, as death by a demon dragon seed rciful compared to this beast, which left nothing of one’s soul.

This was nothing short of an unforgivable enemy in church-rooted xico.

"God, how can we stand by as such a demon appears?"

"That Necromancy Sect’s Guderian, he’s practically the embodint of Satan. We can’t allow him to act recklessly any further!"

Within the xican military, so Church Knights wore stern expressions while several Order commanders gathered, arguing fiercely.

"We’re willing to fight for xico and eliminate the evil in Texas, to reclaim our lost lands, but we refuse to reconcile with those lunatics from the Necromancy Sect. If we turn a blind eye, what right do we have to wield the sacred Holy Light?"

"Brothers, I know your anger, but aside from being Christians, first and foremost, we are xicans. All for our country, for xico!"

...

"Terrifying!"

The knights from the Middle Ages felt a pang of fear; the scene was just too horrifying. Whether it was the enemy’s terrifying giant cannon or the monstrous creature consuming souls, the impact on them was trendous.

"God, is this why we have co here? To eliminate evil, uphold justice, support the weak, and restore order!"

They silently took out their crosses and began to pray.

As the crowd slowly parted, a striking figure erged atop a unicorn-like giant horse.

"Iron Knight lady!"

"Ma’am, why are you here?"

Prajna scanned the crowd with a calm expression, not answering. She rely patted the back of Eclipse, who imdiately joyously galloped away. This nightmare horse from hell had a notoriously wild temperant, but was utterly terrified of the Ghost Race General, Prajna, down to the bone.

In fact, it feared not only Prajna but also Jeanne and Furinjira.

By now, the demon had completely crawled out from the ground, towering over thirty ters tall, with two spiral double horns, blood-red face, and a wide mouth extending to the ears, showing rows of sharp white teeth.

It chomped on the souls, emitting a chilling laughter.

But that laughter, upon sighting Prajna, stopped abruptly as if a hand had choked a chicken.

...

From afar, Cherina watched, pondering aloud, "Doesn’t this demon look sowhat familiar to you?"

Lavinia nodded, "Rember the black Ghost Face Shield that Prajna lady often held?"

"Ah, yes, it looks almost identical to the ghost face relief on that shield!"

Roar—

The demon roared, seemingly warning them not to co closer. Yet the roar, once chilling, now sounded full of bluff.
