The night was growing late, the stars sparse in the moonlit sky.
Losa took advantage of the stand-off between Furin and Prajna to quietly sneak out the door for so air.
Although the air outside wasn’t exactly fresh, there was a faint hint of livestock scent wafting from the nearby stables.
Most people didn’t find this an unpleasant sll, and quite a number of peasant slaves slept in the animal barns.
In Losa’s hotown—Algo, during a snowstorm, squeezing in with the livestock for warmth was a rare privilege.
As soon as he stepped outside, he saw Hans squatting in the corner with an awkward expression: "Sir, if I say I wasn’t eavesdropping, would you believe ?"
"I believe you, no need to explain."
Losa patted his shoulder. Hans was an earnest person; he must have stayed by the door out of concern for his safety.
"Just letting them fight, won’t it be a problem?"
"Don’t worry, they know their limits."
Losa suddenly asked, "Hans, in your world, the Teutonic Order Country, if attacked by a giant dragon or similar extraordinary creature, what would you do?"
Hans responded without hesitation, "Siege crossbows, magic, or powerful Holy Knights, they all should play their respective roles."
"Moreover, Sir, our Teutonic Order Country also has Dragon Knights, though it’s just a land-based Swedish dragon."
Losa was stunned, "Is that so."
He knew nothing about this.
When designing the ga background, many parts were left blank.
For instance, the background only briefly ntioned the Arican Continent, but the details within were not filled.
Did the Iberians sweep across and occupy all of Central and South Arica, or did the Gauls dominate overseas, or was it as in past history, with the Anglo-Saxons ruling North Arica?
None of this was ntioned.
But in a real world, these naturally couldn’t remain unfilled.
The narrative and plot are important for a tower defense ga and can be gradually perfected with updates; leaving blanks for now was fine.
It seems this part of the "blank" was automatically filled as the ga evolved into a world.
"Oh, the first batch of Six-star Attendants didn’t design a single dragon; otherwise, like the dragon mother in ’Ga of Thrones’, I could have swept the world riding a dragon."
In the Yesterday’s Giant Ship system, among the advanced attendants, many also had mythical creature bloodlines, even though there was no Dragon Maiden, there were many comparable to her.
For instance, Furinjira, after unlocking the Elite 2 template, could use Tyrant Transformation, turning into a Blood Tyrant, a terrifying creature no less than a giant dragon.
But the threshold is indeed too high.
To complete Elite Two, you need to first upgrade the Five-Star and Six-Star Attendants to the max level. After becoming elite, the level resets to zero, the attributes remain unchanged; reach max level again to undergo the second elite upgrade.
Four-Star and Three-Star only have Elite One, One-Star and Two-Star max at level thirty, they have no potential for further developnt.
"Get so early rest today. We have to march tomorrow, and might encounter the Saracen’s infiltrating cavalry... Don’t forget, even the leader of a desert bandit group can wield certain extraordinary power, and as one of the highest-ranking kings in the Zoroastrian World, Saladin surely has extraordinary beings under his command."
Losa straightened the folds on Hans’s cloak, patting his shoulder.
He was the only talent under him capable of handling matters independently.
Though Hans had dropped a level in intimacy from worship to trust due to star promotion, it was the quality improvent that caused the value shrinkage.
In simple terms, the exchange rate had changed; previously, a hundred intimacy points equaled worship, now it required three hundred points.
Not that Hans had any real grudge against Losa.
His loyalty had never betrayed Losa’s cultivation.
"Yes, Sir."
Hans paused slightly, then added, "So, Sir, you’re going to patrol the camp tonight for ?"
Losa felt a mont of guilt.
He coughed lightly, quickly pulling out an appointnt letter from his clothes, printed with Baldwin IV’s private heraldic seal: "You should do it; after all, you’ve already been promoted to the Commander of the Jerusalem Knight Order by His Majesty the King, it’s your duty."
Hans was a bit surprised, "Commander?"
In his world, the Teutonic Order Country had a similar frawork, and Commander was a high and mighty position he had never dared to dream of before.
Losa patted his shoulder, "Mm, do well; it’s well-deserved."
Hans held the "appointnt letter," scrutinizing it under the moonlight for a long ti, still feeling sowhat unreal.
"Wait, that’s not right."
"Didn’t you say I’m supposed to rest early?"
...
Returning to the main hall.
Prajna seemingly did not actually clash with Furin.
The latter looked angrily at Losa.
Losa felt a jolt in his heart.
After pondering for a mont, he realized, were you two just putting on a show for ?
If I’m not watching, there’s no need to fight then?
He awkwardly changed the subject: "Furin, since this Gargoyle Ring once belonged to you, can you teach how to use it?"
Furin replied with annoyance: "Just infuse it with magic power, but once the summoned soldiers die, it takes a whole day for the Gargoyle Ring to recharge."
"This is actually a token of our Cepesh family, just like the heraldic ring you wear, mainly used for sealing."
"Your Blood Royal Court is truly wealthy."
Losa sighed softly: "What a pity."
"What?"
"Nothing."
Losa regretted not designing a powerful magic staff for Furinjira or a full set of armor for Prajna initially.
Even if they couldn’t use them, they would still be very valuable treasures.
While Losa had Marles forge a full set of armor for Prajna, it didn’t an the armor was of much use to Prajna.
It’s simply that slaughtering through the enemy ranks with just flesh and blood was too astonishing.
...
The next morning.
At the Royal Knight Order’s garrison.
Losa tidied up his garnts and armor and donned the "Basinet Helt" adorned with peacock feathers at the top.
He had to admit, this helt looks sowhat ugly from the front, but for Losa, practicality was more important, and in a way, ugliness also held a kind of intimidation.
Losa mounted the Arabian warhorse, specially equipped with scale armor horse armor.
The armored cavalry, after the Franks entered the Levant Region, also began to be used to counter the threat of Saracen horse archery to their mounts.
However, the heavy horse armor limited the cavalry’s impact, turning shock cavalry into lee cavalry that had to switch to hand-to-hand combat weapons once they charged into enemy ranks.
Therefore, Losa didn’t equip his winged cavalry with horse armor.
These cavalry, lying between light and heavy cavalry, were more aptly called cuirassiers.
Speed is the lifeblood of the winged cavalry; Losa had already diminished their combat power by being unable to produce hollow lances of at least three ters.
Adding full horse armor and turning them into armored cavalry would negate their strengths and uniqueness.
It would be better to wait for an opportunity to establish an armored cavalry camp from the Eastern Empire or Sassan, training cavalry skilled in both archery and shock tactics.
His own mount with scale armor horse armor was rely a display of identity; in actual battle, he would surely switch mounts.
Looking back, over ten winged cavalry personal guards followed beside him.
They held lances over two ters long, each served by a lightly equipped soldier on a packhorse, who would offload parts of their gear onto the packhorse during the march.
Behind them, the orderly ranks of Royal Knights in dark red and white cloaks and their attendants followed.
Among them, quite a few had equipped their mounts with cotton armor, wood armor, or leather armor, and so affluent knights even outfitted their mounts with helts topped with feathers.
Unlike the newly arrived pilgrim knights, the knights of the Royal Knight Order underwent training aid at enhancing organization.
They wouldn’t charge haphazardly and were more uniformly dressed.
Of course, like those colorful knights, they adorned their shields and coveralls with personal heraldry to assert their identity.
Then, there were the armored soldiers trained by Losa’s organized formations, a mix of veterans and new recruits, led by the Varangian Guard, neatly forming two lines behind the cavalry.
Compared to the Pilgrim Crusade, whose mbers might not even have a single helt, even the newly recruited soldiers of the Royal Knight Order at the very least had armor and pot lid helts.
Most of the spoils seized from the bandit camp were swiftly resold to their knight order by Losa.
Looking at this army, well-equipped and "superbly" armored.
Losa raised the Ard Sword in his hand and commanded: "In the na of the Heavenly Father, the entire army set forth, we must rally under His Majesty the King’s sacred banner outside the city."
