Now reading: Chapter 218: Chaos from Drift Of The Multiverse: [Marvel] [Resident Evil] [DC] [Bleach] [DB], a Action novel by Junkdog.

On the rain-soaked streets of Budapest, Ethan walked at a relaxed and unhurried pace. To others, he may have looked rather disheveled—without an umbrella, his black hair was completely drenched, clinging to his scalp. Rainwater stread down his cheeks, and his glasses were so soaked that it made one question whether they could still function properly.

In truth, the glasses not only perford as intended, but also brought Ethan several pleasant surprises.

Using the data received from the micro-tracker he had deployed, and the inputs synchronized with his own senses, the lenses didn't just show the target's current location. They also generated a dynamic sub-map based on real-ti data, allowing Ethan to visualize the distance between himself and the target as well as the road conditions ahead.

Next to him, Michael adjusted the hood of his jacket, clearly uncomfortable under the pouring rain. He couldn't understand how Ethan was taking the storm so casually.

As for Selene, she didn't seem surprised at Ethan's disregard for the rain. Michael remained wary of her. Even though Ethan's powers were clearly stronger and far beyond what any normal person could possess, he still felt safer next to a mage than a vampire.

They continued walking through the streets of Budapest, slowly approaching the outskirts. The vampire mansion wasn't located in the city center.

That was only natural. Only the suburbs had enough space to build such a large estate while also maintaining the privacy required to keep its secrets hidden from the world.

As ti passed, Selene realized they were heading toward the vampire mansion. She had already figured out that Ethan, who appeared to be leading the way, was actually following her companion. His path was slightly off, but clearly closing in. Her companion had circled the area to throw off any pursuers, maintaining the appropriate level of vigilance.

Unfortunately, no matter how many detours he took, Ethan still closed in on the mansion little by little. Selene understood now that her comrade had been manipulated, and Ethan could track him with precision.

"What exactly did you do?"

"I just made your comrade think you were dead."

Selene thought back to the strange space they had been in. At first, nothing seed off. The passersby had appeared completely real. If Ethan hadn't dispelled the illusion, she wouldn't have realized it was all fake.

Thinking of that, she understood what had happened to her companion. She now believed Ethan was fully capable of such things.

After circling the area, Ethan and the others arrived at the gates of the mansion on the outskirts. Ethan had already removed his glasses. Although neither Michael nor Selene had seen where he stored them, it wasn't surprising given Ethan claid to be a mage. Any magical tool was to be expected.

Selene also guessed that Ethan had used those glasses to track her companion and locate this place.

"What do you plan to do?"

Standing before the gate, thunder rumbled and lightning flashed overhead. Ethan looked up at the sky. It was, indeed, a good day to stir up trouble.

"Do what needs to be done."

The iron gate before him posed no obstacle. Though Ethan's physical strength wasn't enough to force it open or leap over in one bound, a gate like this was no problem today.

The blue energy projectiles he could release—magic missiles empowered by the energy of the Cosmic Cube—were incredibly powerful. A single shot would be enough to blow the gate open.

Ethan had assud that arriving like this would imdiately alert the vampires within. But whether it was due to the thunder masking the noise, or because the vampires were so imrsed in their own revelry, he made it all the way to the mansion's front entrance without any confrontation.

"I thought making a little noise would draw all the vampires out, so I wouldn't have to waste ti finding them one by one."

But their response—or lack thereof—disappointed Ethan. When he opened the door, the 'noble' vampires were still enjoying their party. Everyone held glasses filled with red liquid. Groups of 'handso n and beautiful won' laughed and mingled, completely ignoring the intruders.

Only a few noticed Selene at the entrance. They glanced over briefly, then returned to their drinking and conversation, not even bothering to ask who Ethan and Michael were.

"Huh."

Seeing this, Ethan found it amusing. Selene, on the other hand, felt her cheeks burn with sha. What she witnessed made her feel utterly humiliated. She wanted to shout, "The enemy is at the gates, and you're still partying? Do you even deserve to call yourselves vampires?"

While Selene simred in embarrassnt and Ethan debated whether to clean house, her comrade from earlier appeared, leading a group of Death Dealers.

Fully ard and ready for combat, they moved with purpose. From their posture, it was clear they were preparing for a search operation. But halfway through, they spotted Selene at the door.

"Selene?"

The man at the front sounded unsure. He was certain he had seen Selene killed by the man now standing beside her. That was why he had rushed back to request backup.

But now Selene was standing here alive and well. What was going on?

He wasn't the only one confused. The other Death Dealers looked at him with suspicion. If he couldn't give a reasonable explanation, he was going to be in serious trouble.

His reaction was quick. He imdiately shifted the focus.

"Selene, who are these two? Why did you bring them here?"

The Death Dealers were the vampire clan's elite warriors, their most formidable combat force. Each one had survived countless battles and possessed extensive experience.

The mont they sensed sothing was wrong, they drew their weapons and aid at Ethan and Michael.

Seeing this, Ethan no longer had to debate whether this group of fools deserved to be killed. The hesitation he'd felt earlier now seed utterly ridiculous. With his mind made up, there was no need to hold back.

"Thanks for helping regain clarity."

Without waiting for the others to act, Ethan raised his right hand. Almost simultaneously, the Death Dealers opened fire.

They didn't care who Ethan was. He wasn't one of them, and any outsider who barged in was an enemy.

Death Dealers were seasoned veterans. They didn't waste ti trying to assess the opponent or asking questions that would cost them the initiative.

The sudden firefight sent the hall into chaos. Vampires who had been laughing monts ago now scread and ran in panic.

Years of indulgence had dulled their senses and instincts. Though their physical strength was superior to ordinary humans, their reactions weren't much better. Like panicked civilians, they ran in all directions.

If the Death Dealers' bullets hadn't been flying in the opposite direction, many of these fools would have been hit by friendly fire.

Though accidental injury was avoided, it didn't an they were safe.

When the bullets reached Ethan, they struck sothing invisible, producing sharp crackling sounds. It was as if the air itself had turned into bulletproof glass. Shattered patterns spread through the empty space like fractured panes.

This strange sight made the Death Dealers hesitate and pause their attack. They were stunned, overwheld by what they saw.

Despite their experience, they had never encountered anything like this.

Ethan wasn't about to miss the opportunity. Seeing the vampires frozen in confusion, he raised his right hand again.

"I've always wanted to try this out."

He snapped his fingers lightly. In response, the fractured glass-like surface began to ripple, and bullets shot back out from those ripples, now targeting the vampires directly in front of him.

These were the bullets the Death Dealers had just fired. Ethan didn't rely reflect them—he had recalculated each bullet's trajectory with precision. Nearly every vampire in the hall was caught in the crossfire.

After the storm of gunfire, most of the vampires lay on the ground, groaning in pain, having been wounded by their own allies' bullets.

Looking at the dozens of vampires now lying on the floor and wailing, Ethan didn't hesitate or feel pity. He simply brushed his left hand over his chest, where the Battle Cross infused with Holy Light energy was stored.

As his hand moved, a small yellow orb of light appeared in his palm. With a slight push, the orb floated forward, passed through the 'glass wall,' and slowly drifted into the center of the hall.

The Death Dealers and the wounded vampires all had a terrible premonition. But with their injuries, they could do nothing but watch as the orb floated to its destination.

Ethan kept his palm extended. Once the orb reached the appropriate position, he suddenly spread his hand wide.

The orb exploded into a brilliant burst of light. The Holy Light instantly engulfed the entire hall.

Only Ethan and the space behind him remained untouched.
