The calls of two mythical creatures nearly shattered Chen Xuan’s eardrums. At the sa ti, the orange and azure radiance flooding the room forced him to shut his eyes.
Only after the sound faded and the light dimd did he finally manage to see what lay beyond the stone gate.
There were only two objects inside.
One crimson mass of liquid and a sword.
The sword was embedded firmly within a stone platform, pinning the blood-like substance in place and preventing it from escaping.
Using the word "escaping" to describe a pool of liquid sounded absurd.
Yet it was the first thought that surfaced in Chen Xuan’s mind.
Because it was true! The thing before him truly seed alive!
The crimson liquid pulsed rhythmically, writhing as though struggling to break free.
Two illusory phantoms, one bird-like and one serpent-like, could be seen within its surface, releasing the roars that had just echoed monts earlier.
Chen Xuan found himself unconsciously drawn into the bizarre scene.
Fortunately, the little girl beside him noticed this.
She didn’t tease him for once. Instead, she quietly explained:
"This is the greatest treasure that my Master left behind: the Blood Essence of a Phoenix and an Azure Dragon," she said.
"Do you see it? Even after thousands of years have passed, the blood still retains so of its original vitality. Given enough ti, it could eventually evolve into sothing terrifying."
"At the sa ti, this blood is the core requirent for a supernatural power my Master created before his departure."
As she spoke, the girl pointed a finger toward Chen Xuan. A ray of light shot forward and entered his forehead.
A torrent of information accompanied it and poured into his mind.
Dragon-Phoenix Body—a rare body-refining supernatural power that could enhance physical strength. Inspired by the Physiques possessed by all cultivators, it fused the characteristics of the Phoenix and Azure Dragon to forge a body of unparalleled might.
The girl did not transmit the complete technique, only giving a brief overview.
Still, just this was enough to leave Chen Xuan stunned.
At the sa ti, he understood her aning.
To cultivate this supernatural power, one needed to refine the Blood Essence of at least one of the aforentioned mythical creatures.
The mass of liquid before him, containing the essence of both of them at the sa ti, was incredibly valuable.
"With your puny strength, devouring this blood directly is impossible. If you act recklessly, it is only a matter of ti before your will is destroyed by the remnants of their wills," the girl continued.
Then she smiled.
"Fortunately for you, I’m here. With my assistance, even a lowly cultivator like you can absorb it."
As she was speaking, the little girl’s body began to dissolve into countless specks of light.
The cluster twisted in the air before shooting out, landing on the sword suppressing the blood and rging with it.
The sword’s plain appearance imdiately changed.
Golden patterns surfaced along the blade, while mysterious runes began glowing faintly across its surface.
"What are you waiting for? Hurry up. I’ll help you refine it!" the girl’s voice rang out from within the sword.
Her identity imdiately beca clear.
The little girl had never been human, nor was she the will of the Secret Realm as Chen Xuan suspected.
Instead, she was the spirit of the magic weapon!
Although Chen Xuan was astonished, unable to comprehend how a weapon spirit could behave so lifelike, he knew that now was not the ti to dwell on it.
Hearing the impatience in her voice and seeing the sword tremble faintly in the air, he understood he could not delay any longer.
His figure blurred as he appeared before the stone platform.
Just as he was wondering what he should do next, the girl’s voice echoed directly inside his mind.
"Follow my instructions. Sit down and operate the technique exactly as I tell you..."
Hearing the seriousness in her tone, Chen Xuan did as told.
He sat cross-legged before extending a hand toward the writhing blood.
The mont his fingers touched it, the Blood Essence was simulated. It reacted violently.
It churned and twisted, as though attempting to strike back and punish him for his offense.
Before Chen Xuan could defend, the little girl had already acted.
The golden patterns along the blade erupted with dazzling brilliance as an overwhelming force descended upon the Blood Essence.
The struggling liquid froze in place. A golden power enveloped it, compressing it little by little.
By the ti everything was over, the once fist-sized mass had shrunk into a single crimson droplet.
Under her power, it shot toward Chen Xuan and rged into his body.
"The Blood Essence’s power far surpasses what your body can currently endure."
"I’ll seal most of it within you for now. Once your cultivation improves in the future, you can refine it gradually. At present, you only need to absorb a tiny portion."
Chen Xuan imdiately understood her intentions.
Though a vague idea surfaced in his mind and he thought of another use of this blood, he suppressed it for the ti being.
Now was not the right mont nor place to experint recklessly.
Turning his gaze inward, he concentrated on the sealed Dragon-Phoenix Blood sealed within his body. Using his divine sense, he carefully separated a tiny fragnt before channeling the Dragon-Phoenix Body technique.
As the blood dispersed, it flowed through his ridians like the waves of a raging river, tempering his body and enhancing his physical strength.
A deep humming sound echoed from within his body as his power surged at an astonishing pace.
From possessing the durability of an ordinary Low-Grade Magic Weapon, it soon reached the level of an Ultimate-Grade Magic Weapon.
Yet, the enhancent did not stop there. It soared even further!
Boom!
A terrifying pressure burst from Chen Xuan’s thin body as a two-colored radiance enveloped his skin, making him look gem-like.
It was only after the light retreated that he finally opened his eyes.
Clenching his fist, he found it difficult to contain his composure. His face broke into a smile.
He could sense that his combat prowess had increased imnsely.
Even if he stood motionless and allowed Core Formation cultivators to attack him freely, they would be unable to breach his defenses, much less hurt him.
More importantly, this was only the beginning.
Sensing the Blood Essence remaining sealed within his body and recalling the contents of the Dragon-Phoenix Body, he was full of confidence for the future.
But, in the very next mont, that confidence was shattered.
A sharp hum reverberated through the chamber. A streak of light flashed before his eyes.
A small female figure erged above the sword and pointed at him.
The next mont, the sword suppressing the Blood Essence suddenly shot toward him.
