Now reading: Chapter 109: Meeting with the Hongshan Camp Leadership from Dual Worlds: I Have a Doomsday World, a Sci-fi novel by I Am Not Lao Wan.

Lin Qi raced to Hongshan Camp, arriving as fast as he possibly could.

Hongshan Camp was forrly Hongshan Station. It was a sprawling complex with an impressive architectural scale.

In this apocalyptic era, it was large enough to house nearly ten thousand survivors.

Unfortunately, despite the Hongshan Rescue Team’s best efforts, they had only managed to save about three thousand survivors.

That was eight tis the number of survivors at the Mo University Camp.

When Lin Qi arrived, he happened to run into so familiar faces.

Cheng Huai’s squad from the Mo University Camp was teaching several mbers of the Hongshan Camp’s squads how to use Electromagnetic Firearms and Exoskeletons.

Liu Wei, a squad mber with a Crimson Crystal Stone hanging from his neck, was the first to spot Lin Qi. "Captain, look!" he exclaid. "Big Shot Lin Qi is here!"

Cheng Huai imdiately turned to look in the direction Liu Wei was pointing.

’It really is Lin Qi!’

He imdiately dropped what he was doing, walked up to Lin Qi, and asked, "Big Shot, what brings you to Hongshan Camp? Are you here to take us back to Mo University?"

Cheng Huai’s words were filled with a longing for the Mo University Camp.

They had been at Hongshan Camp for less than half a day, yet they already missed Mo University.

The reason was simple: the living conditions at Hongshan Camp were too harsh.

The entire power supply depended on a few diesel generators, leading to severe shortages.

Unlike the Mo University Camp, where they even had enough electricity to run air conditioners.

Power issues aside, the lack of running water was an even more serious problem.

Although there was no shortage of drinking water, the survivors here hadn’t bathed in a long ti.

The sll was rather unpleasant.

Back at the Mo University Camp, students with the relevant expertise had already managed to restore the running water supply to the Club Activity Building using groundwater.

All in all, Cheng Huai and his n didn’t want to stay in Hongshan Camp a mont longer.

Lin Qi said, "Take to see Ding Yang."

His words were direct, showing only his determination to deal with the man-made Extraordinary Item as quickly as possible.

Cheng Huai imdiately understood that Lin Qi was here on important business.

He imdiately led Lin Qi inside Hongshan Camp.

Ding Yang’s office was located in the dead center of the Hongshan Camp’s waiting hall.

Or rather, the rest area for all the rescue team mbers was in the waiting hall, where they lived alongside the survivors.

This was done in the spirit of sharing their hardships, and also to maintain constant supervision and deterrence to prevent violent incidents within Hongshan Camp.

But even so, things were not entirely peaceful inside Hongshan Camp.

Minor conflicts would break out from ti to ti.

Ding Yang and the other administrators were decisive and employed harsh punishnts, but they couldn’t just execute people over a simple verbal dispute.

Knowing where to draw the line was one of the great difficulties of managing the camp.

The sight of Cheng Huai and Lin Qi clad in their Exoskeletons drew the eyes of everyone in the waiting hall.

"That Exoskeleton equipnt is so cool."

"If I could get my hands on a set of Exoskeletons, what would I have to fear from these damn soldiers? I’d rather die than have co to this camp."

"Keep it down. They’ll execute you if you’re not careful."

Lin Qi frowned slightly. Among the many stares, he could sense quite a few filled with malice.

It seed that even the deterrent presence of the Hongshan Rescue Team wasn’t enough to completely control a survivor population that outnumbered the ard personnel ten to one.

Fortunately, Cheng Huai’s squad had already demonstrated the power of their Electromagnetic Weapons and Exoskeleton Armor upon their arrival.

No one dared to point or make comnts to their faces.

They reached the center of the Hongshan Station waiting hall, where a camouflage fabric partition concealed the area from view.

A dozen or so Warriors were guarding the area. Counting them, there were fewer than forty Warriors in the entire Hongshan Camp.

The rest were still out on rescue missions.

"This is our Mo University Camp’s... leader. He wants to see Director Ding."

Cheng Huai introduced Lin Qi, but he hesitated for a mont over the title.

Currently, only the various squads in the Mo University Camp had official roles; the leadership, including Lin Qi and Wang Ziru, didn’t have formal titles.

But everyone knew Lin Qi was the top dog, with Xia Chu right behind him, and Wang Ziru temporarily holding the number three spot in the camp.

"Leader?"

The corner of the guard’s mouth twitched.

If he hadn’t known that the Mo University Camp was practically an allied unit, he might have thought the title belonged to so post-apocalyptic gang.

In their recent operations, they had cleaned up plenty of groups who had been wreaking havoc in the apocalypse.

"One mont, please. I’ll announce you."

The guard disappeared behind the camouflage partition and reerged about ten seconds later.

"Please, go in."

Cheng Huai didn’t go in with Lin Qi. Instead, he walked out of Hongshan Station and rejoined Liu Wei and the others to continue the training.

The sll inside the station was rather pungent, and Cheng Huai had no desire to stay in there for long.

Lin Qi t Ding Yang without issue. It seed Ding Yang had been in the middle of a eting.

A few tables, dragged over from the station’s restaurants, had been pushed together to form a makeshift conference table.

The leadership of the Hongshan Rescue Team sat gathered around it.

When Ding Yang saw Lin Qi enter, he imdiately stood up to shake his hand.

"Lin Qi, what brings you here in person? Everyone, allow to introduce you. This is Lin Qi, the founder of the Mo University Camp."

"Lin Qi, let introduce you. This is the commander of our Hongshan Rescue Team, Cao Xian."

"This is our chief of staff, Ouyang Shangde, and that is..."

Ding Yang went on to introduce everyone.

There were only six people in total, and they were responsible for the entirety of Hongshan Camp’s operations.

Six people managing three thousand. One could only imagine the difficulty.

Lin Qi placed the plastic bag he was carrying on the table. "Director Ding," he said, "I’ll keep it brief. I’ve conducted a preliminary investigation into the situation on the outskirts of the overrun territory in the Beining District."

After setting down the bag, Lin Qi bent down and lifted his collection robot, which had been faithfully following him, onto the table as well. He then removed one of its panels.

"So quickly?"

It wasn’t just Ding Yang. Everyone at the table was stunned by Lin Qi’s efficiency.

On top of their shock, their jaws dropped as they took in the highly intelligent collection robot Lin Qi had brought with him.

They had heard that Mo University had a real heavy-hitter, but they hadn’t been able to picture what that ant.

Now, seeing Lin Qi’s equipnt, the lifelike agility of his collection robot, and the sheer efficiency he displayed, none of them could hide their astonishnt.

He emptied the contents of the plastic bag onto the table. The pockmarked, cratered surface of the Moon was still vaguely discernible.

"This is a Tier One Extraordinary Item," Lin Qi explained. "I found it on the edge of the Beining District."

"It’s the source of the auditory and visual hallucinations. It’s made of plaster and was originally a model of the Moon. This is a man-made Extraordinary Item."

Lin Qi had barely finished speaking when the chief of staff, Ouyang Shangde, exclaid, "That’s impossible!"

Lin Qi continued, "Nothing is impossible. This isn’t the only one. Right now, there are at least dozens, maybe even hundreds, of them around the Beining District. They are all highly correlated with that Moon in the sky."

"On top of that, I have a video. It was fild inside the building in the Beining District where the Tier Three Aggregated Monster is located."
