Wei Yue had already considered the question Lin Qi just posed.

Drawing on her understanding of her own condition and the knowledge of the Extraordinary Side granted to her by the Red Moon, Wei Yue made her judgnt.

"Yes. In my perception, you’re practically another Blood Moon."

"Unless my perception is mistaken, your will can take the place of the Blood Moon Will."

"But you’ll need to be able to project your will independently, just like the Blood Moon. That might require a higher Extraordinary Level."

Wei Yue’s description was very clear. Right now, she was like a hot commodity up for grabs.

All it would take was a powerful Blood Moon Will with the right characteristics to snatch her up.

As for which Blood Moon it was?

It made no difference. It was simply first co, first served.

Of course, this situation only arose because Lin Qi’s power was so unique. In Wei Yue’s perception, it was identical to the Blood Moon, yet the two were independent of each other.

Without Lin Qi, Wei Yue would currently be nothing more than a special piece of cargo that happened to possess an ordinary person’s mind.

Although she was currently no different from a normal Extraordinary, the mont she t the "owner"—the Blood Moon Will—she could instantly beco a true Blood Moon Envoy. She would beco the Blood Moon’s most devout follower, the kind who would even surrender their very soul.

After determining that Wei Yue was still telling the truth, Lin Qi’s killing intent diminished significantly.

If that was truly the case, then Wei Yue wasn’t much different from the ordinary survivors at the Mo University Camp.

There was just the slight risk of being controlled by the Blood Moon, but on the other hand, she offered the potential to bring him more knowledge of the Extraordinary Side.

The risk was acceptable. After a mont of thought, Lin Qi asked his final question: "Back when the Beining District rescue team was wiped out, did you have a hand in it? And since becoming Moon Worshipers, have you killed anyone?"

Lin Qi had never asked this question before.

After all, Lin Qi had always regarded the Moon Worshipers as re "temp workers" he would sooner or later send to their graves.

But Wei Yue’s situation was different now. If the opportunity arose, she could beco a "permanent employee"—and the most loyal kind, at that.

Wei Yue answered without a mont’s hesitation, "No, but I did see the rescue team get lured into the building by a Tier Three Monster. At the ti, I was overseeing the conversion of several Moon Worshipers."

’Still the truth.’

Lin Qi retracted his Spiritual Vision.

’Since her hands aren’t stained with blood, she’s qualified to beco a permanent employee.’

Lin Qi asked no more questions and continued to pilot the M-Class cha back toward the Mo University Camp.

Along the way, Wei Yue fell silent for a long ti before suddenly speaking up again. "If it’s possible, I hope you can get stronger as quickly as possible."

Compared to her absolute obedience of the past, the current Wei Yue was showing more of her human side, reverting to the personality she had before the apocalypse.

A rather socially awkward art student.

"Why?" Lin Qi asked casually.

But Wei Yue’s reply was heavy. "If it were you, would you want to beco the devout follower of a monster?"

"I didn’t beco one of the first Moon Worshipers voluntarily. I’ve experienced what it feels like to have your faith devoured by a monster, to feel like you’re no longer human. I don’t want to experience that again."

"If it’s possible, rather than rging with the Blood Moon Will to beco a Blood Moon Envoy, I would rather rge with the will of a counterfeit Blood Moon like you. When that ti cos, even if I can’t maintain my sense of self, at least I’ll still be... human."

No one could comprehend the pain Wei Yue was feeling at that mont.

Especially after having witnessed everything in Shuining City, the pain of her "awakening" was all the more acute.

She had been so close. Just a little bit more...

Without Lin Qi’s intervention, she feared that as the monsters in Beining District continued to grow, she would have begun to hear more whispers and grasp the sa power as that middle-aged man.

Under the Blood Moon’s influence, she would have lost all her humanity, committing one atrocity after another until the entirety of Modu had fallen.

With this understanding, whether to escape the Blood Moon or to uphold her moral baseline as a human, Wei Yue did not want to beco a Moon Worshiper again—a puppet controlled by the Blood Moon.

Lin Qi turned to look at Wei Yue and saw tears welling in her eyes.

From the mont she awoke, her soul had been in tornt.

"You want to fight the Blood Moon for you? You sure think highly of ," Lin Qi said, his tone laced with exasperation.

’I’m only a Tier Two Wizard!’

’Who the hell knows what Tier of Extraordinary has the ability to project their will?!’

’A Tier Three certainly can’t do it. Otherwise, Liu Xingzhou wouldn’t have died so quietly back then.’

’What about Tier Four?’

’It’s not like I don’t know any Tier Four Extraordinaries.’

’Master Ma and Baili Xueyuan are both Tier Four Extraordinaries, and they don’t seem like the type to have such a powerful ability.’

’As for Tier Five?’

’That’s way too far off for .’

’Right now, the ceiling I can see is the Second Stage of Tier Three, and I’m still short one Tier Two Extraordinary Item.’

Lin Qi didn’t know if he could make Wei Yue a "permanent employee," and he wasn’t about to offer any guarantees. After all, he didn’t owe her a thing.

"You’re a special Blood Moon, too. I believe in you."

Wei Yue looked into Lin Qi’s eyes. Her gaze held no resolve, only pleading.

The Blood Moon hung high in the sky. The Blood Moon Will would manifest sooner or later. Wei Yue had no way out.

Her only hope was that Lin Qi would beco strong enough to directly supplant the Blood Moon Will when it appeared, completing the fusion with the Extraordinary characteristic inside her.
