The broadcast played all night, but it was just on a loop.
Lin Qi and Xia Chu had rested for several hours.
As a Tier One Wizard, Lin Qi’s body also possessed Tier One strength, leaving him full of energy.
Xia Chu, on the other hand, was rather exhausted, but her spirits soared after she placed a Crimson Crystal Stone under her tongue.
"Ti to move out. Let’s save so people."
Hearing Lin Qi’s voice, and especially those two words, "save people," Xia Chu’s spirits were instantly lifted.
They made their way down to the second floor and boarded the cha’s cockpit directly from there.
As the cha began to move, the sound of its heavy footsteps echoed across the Mo University Campus. Survivors nearby watched from a distance, their eyes fixed on the cha.
"It’s moving, it’s moving! Rescue is here!"
The keen perception granted by his Spiritual Vision allowed Lin Qi to notice their gazes.
This awareness of being watched was far more effective than the "displaying obvious signs" ntioned in the broadcast, allowing Lin Qi to locate survivors with much greater ease.
Piloting the cha, Lin Qi headed toward a nearby parking area.
"Master, you’re going the wrong way!"
In the dormitory area, the survivors watched anxiously as the cha walked in the opposite direction.
But when they saw the cha’s next move, they all erupted in cries of "Holy shit!"
The cha’s target was a box truck—or more specifically, its cargo container.
The Chainsaw Sword revved to life, its teeth spinning at high speed.
It sliced through the truck as easily as a knife through tofu, separating the cab from the container and leaving the container’s front end open.
The cha slung the Chainsaw Sword onto its back, where it was held in place by magnets.
The cha lifted the container with its two arms, gave it a couple of shakes to empty its contents, and then hoisted the empty container onto its shoulder. Lin Qi then changed course and headed toward the dormitories.
Before long, Lin Qi arrived at the base of a dormitory building.
The cha was only tall enough to reach the third floor.
The Chainsaw Sword went to work again, easily carving an opening in the third-floor wall.
The cha’s external speakers broadcast his voice: "Survivors inside, enter the container from the third floor."
The sound instantly caused a commotion among the zombies between the dorms.
It was as if the zombies had sensed the living beings inside the cha.
"Lin Qi, look over there."
From inside the cockpit, Xia Chu pointed toward a few zombies.
Compared to the regular ones, these few zombies looked special.
Their speed. Their speed was clearly abnormal.
’Finally found so...’
Lin Qi’s spirits rose.
In his Spiritual Vision, the Crimson Crystals in the heads of these abnormal zombies were distinctly different from those of the regular ones.
After the Red Moon event, ordinary zombies had been strengthened, but their fundantal nature hadn’t changed. The total amount of Spiritual Particles in their Crimson Crystal Stones had varied, but they remained the sa type of Extraordinary Item. A Wizard could not analyze the sa type more than once.
In contrast, the Crimson Crystal Stones inside the heads of those exceptionally fast zombies had undergone a clear morphological change, becoming angular cubes.
Their color had also shifted from crimson to a pale red.
The most crucial basis for this judgnt was that Lin Qi’s Spiritual Power registered the new Crystal Stones as sothing unfamiliar.
This was the true basis for identifying a new type of Extraordinary Item.
On the top floor, the hearts of the survivors who saw these strange zombies clenched in fear.
They quickly hung out a large sign written on A1 drawing paper: "Those monsters are dangerous! Dangerous! Dangerous!"
Lin Qi could see the survivors’ warning; the coverage of his Spiritual Vision was all-encompassing.
’Where does the danger co from?’
’Is it just their speed?’
Not at all.
Through his Spiritual Vision, Lin Qi saw the strange mouthparts of this zombie variant.
It could no longer be called a human mouth; "mouthparts" was the only fitting description.
Their mouths had split into five flaps, revealing extrely sharp teeth inside that spun like a high-speed blender.
’Their strength isn’t low, probably around M-Class. This cha is also rated M-Class overall, but its materials are its weak point.’
His assessnt was spot-on. The zombie’s mouthparts could probably tear through the cha’s armor. If he fought them with the Chainsaw Sword, the cha would likely be heavily damaged.
But the cha had more than just a Chainsaw Sword.
"Xia Chu, prepare for cool-down."
As he spoke, two six-barreled rotary cannons extended from the cha’s shoulders.
The survivors on the upper floors saw it all clearly.
"Holy shit, is that a Vulcan cannon?"
"Is that even legal? Did so guy from the chanical engineering departnt just whip that up by hand?"
"Wait, even if he’s a genius from the engineering departnt, where did he get gunpowder?"
The cannon’s six barrels didn’t spin. They just sat there, motionless.
A high-frequency hum of charging electromagnetic energy filled the air.
The next second, a massive volley of projectiles was unleashed.
Aided by the computing power of the collection robot’s chip, every projectile avoided the zombies’ heads, preventing any damage to the Extraordinary Items within.
Before those strange zombies could even get close to the cha, they were blasted into shredded at.
After eliminating the special zombies, Lin Qi didn’t fire another volley.
There was no need.
The ordinary zombies lacked the ability to breach the cha’s armor.
Upstairs, the survivors’ heads were spinning.
"Fuck, it’s a railgun! Not a Vulcan cannon!"
Electromagnetic Weapons. The technology involved was far more advanced than a Vulcan cannon, and it didn’t even require chemical propellants.
The shock the cha delivered to the survivors wasn’t over. They watched as the fired projectiles—at least those embedded in the ground and not sent flying—were pulled back by a targeted magnetic force.
The ammunition was recyclable!
Even the students of a top-tier institution like Mo University had never witnessed such a ridiculous sight.
’So this is the prodigy from Mo University’s chanical engineering departnt?’
’He whipped up a superweapon like this right after the apocalypse started?’
’No, this couldn’t have been a spur-of-the-mont project. It must have been preditated.’
’The big shot had this planned back when things were peaceful.’
’What was he planning to do with it? Bomb the school?’
There was no ti for the survivors to overthink things. Lin Qi urged them on.
"Survivors, get in the container quickly. There are more people waiting to be rescued."
While waiting for the survivors, the collection robot that handled the cha’s computing tasks ejected and landed on the ground.
It brought the few cubic Crystal Stones back to the cha’s storage unit.
’These Crystal Stones ca at the perfect ti.’ Lin Qi had been worrying about not having any Extraordinary Items to advance his Wizard Level.
A few minutes later, all the survivors from that building were inside the container.
The cha turned and headed for another building.
The container wasn’t full yet; it could still fit survivors from several more buildings.
The cha tilted the container slightly and gave it a couple of jolts, packing the survivors more tightly together.
"Whoa, boss, take it easy!"
A survivor cried out, but Lin Qi paid them no mind.
At the next building, there were even fewer survivors—only three.
It was a won’s dormitory.
Lin Qi sighed. ’The apocalypse is definitely harder on won, given their physical disadvantages. A lower survival rate is to be expected.’
The cha tilted the container again and gave it another jolt, estimating that with a bit more squeezing, it could fit plenty more survivors.
"Whoa, boss, give it a few more shakes!"
The sa voice from the container spoke again, but the words were very different.
Xia Chu cursed under her breath, "So shaless!"
