King Arthur first replied with a rhetorical question of his own, then quickly followed up.
"Wait, your real reason for contacting was to ask for intel on Si Ying, wasn’t it?"
King Arthur was quick on the uptake, realizing Lin Qi had an ulterior motive.
The whole topic of searching the underground pipes and finding the cavity seed to be just a pretext for his real objective.
In front of the mirror, Lin Qi rubbed his nose. He had indeed been a bit too hasty.
But he really had been putting in the effort to find a way into the cavity; he just hadn’t found it yet.
Lin Qi replied, "The two things aren’t mutually exclusive. As long as sothing happens to Si Ying, Greenfield City will descend into chaos. And when it gets chaotic, you’ll be safer."
"Compared to the death of an heir, the things you’ve done are completely insignificant."
Lin Qi had found a reason to persuade King Arthur.
In the dark underground pipes, King Arthur rolled his eyes, filled with disdain for Lin Qi’s reasoning.
But they were both mbers of the Highest-Level rcenary Corps, and for now, King Arthur could only rely on Lin Qi in Greenfield City.
Still, King Arthur provided the intel. "The information I can get is limited. I’m basically a rat in the sewer right now. All the intel I hear cos from the idle chatter of gang mbers and so mbers of small rcenary Corps hanging around the underground pipes."
King Arthur was giving Lin Qi a heads-up, letting him know that his information ca from a motley environnt and couldn’t be expected to be particularly important or precise.
"After yesterday’s eting, the ’intel’ you provided has indeed been spread. Capitalist and Master Ma are very efficient. The news that Si Ying is the true heir of the Si Clan is now practically common knowledge in the rcenary Realm."
"I don’t know what channels these smaller rcenary Corps used to get the information, but many of them are getting restless."
"But after what happened with the operation against the Liu Clan’s heir, the smaller corps are on alert. They won’t act rashly and be used as cannon fodder."
"From my observations, the various factions entrenched in the underground pipe system were in an uproar this afternoon, but things have quieted down by tonight."
"Based on my years of experience, there might be a big move tonight, most likely from one of the major powers making a direct play."
"As for the location, it’s highly likely to be at Greenfield City’s landmark, the Si’s Twin Towers."
Lin Qi read the information provided by King Arthur word for word.
The source of the intel was unreliable, the information itself wasn’t precise, and it was mostly content that King Arthur had pieced together and deduced from fragnts of information.
But Lin Qi believed its credibility wasn’t low.
Previously, when Si Ying had spread false intelligence, Lin Qi had been tested very quickly—he was hit with Holy Light that sa day. This showed that all the factions were racing against ti.
The activation of the Iron Curtain System also supported this conclusion.
The Iron Curtain couldn’t solve the problem of the Si and Liu Clans being targeted; its only function was to buy ti.
It was as if, so long as things were dragged out and the heirs of the Si and Liu Clans weren’t successfully assassinated in the short term, so mysterious force would step in to resolve the whole affair.
Making a move tonight was consistent with Lin Qi’s understanding of the situation.

King Arthur didn’t know Si Ying’s exact location; this was just speculation.

After so long, Lin Qi was finally going to act as a mber of the rcenary Corps again.
He quickly composed an email and sent it to the highest-level secure inbox.
It wasn’t the request for help he had originally planned, but a mission request.
Normally, the Highest-Level rcenary Corps required a eting and the support of more than three mbers before undertaking a mission.
But this ti, Guang Ling’s reply changed the procedure.

This welco was because Lin Qi had been in a "standby for departure" status. When the Witch Hunt first broke out, Lin Qi had wanted to quit the rcenary Corps to ensure his own safety.
Today, by proactively asking Guang Ling to arrange a rcenary Corps mission, Lin Qi was submitting an unconventional application to rejoin the team.
After the welco, the email got down to business.
