"WHAT!!"

Nia and Rovik were instantly thrown into existential doubt.

That was the first seal that the High-Level Spirit Research Society had spent years trying to break without success.

Not just their current mbers—previous generations of seniors had tried every thod imaginable, yet not even the slightest crack had ever appeared in the first seal on the God Card.

The shock of this developnt was overwhelming, and no one had expected it to happen so casually.

Controlling Aisha's body, Miles had only lightly picked up the card—yet sohow, that single action had unraveled the seal that had troubled the club for years.

"W-What did you do, Miss Aisha?!"

Overwheld, Nia lunged across the coffee table at Miles, her chocolate mochi assets jiggling with each motion.

"I didn't do anything," Miles said truthfully, willing to swear on Aisha's head that all he did was lift the card like any normal person would.

Yet sohow, this simple action had lifted the first seal on [Dystopia the Despondent].

"Did nothing... yet broke the first seal?"

Still in disbelief, Nia turned her gaze back to the card.

"So this God Card's true na... is Dystopia?"

Now that the first seal was lifted, Nia and Rovik could finally read the true na hidden beneath the magic.

Miles carefully examined the card as well.

With the first seal broken, besides revealing the na and Attack stat, a single word peeked through the remaining blurred chains: "Level 1 Monster."

"This God Card... could it sohow be connected to Level 1 monsters?"

A 12-Star God Card tied to Level 1 monsters... The gap between them felt like heaven and earth. Miles struggled to find the link.

But considering why the first seal had broken the mont Aisha's body touched the card, the only logical connection had to be that "Level 1 Monster" note.

On the Spirit Continent, a Duelist could only summon monsters that belonged to them. And what kind of monster a Duelist could summon was completely out of their control.

That rule led to a strange extremity.

Previously, everyone had looked down on Aisha Carlos for only being able to summon Level 1 and 2 normal monsters.

But looking at it from another angle: even if you wanted to summon Level 1 monsters, could you?

You couldn't.

Given the random nature of summoning in this world, Duelists had no say over the monsters they summoned. And from what Miles had observed, most first-years at Fusion Academy typically summoned monsters between Level 3 and 4, with the occasional high-Level monster.

That said, soone capable of mass-summoning Level 1 monsters? There was only one: Aisha Yuna Carlos.

Viewed from this perspective, Aisha's "ability to summon Level 1 monsters" might be an extraordinary gift.

And thanks to that unique talent, the first seal on Dystopia the Despondent had unlocked.

Of course, this was all Miles's personal speculation.

If he voiced it out loud, no doubt that airheaded girl would get all puffed up again.

"Oh right, Nia-senpai," Kevin suddenly said, "didn't you say earlier that once the first seal was broken, the card itself would reveal the thod for breaking the second seal?"

Rovik's eyes turned sharply serious behind his gold-rimd glasses.

"That's right. Breaking the first lock triggers a chain-unsealing reaction. That's the nature of multi-layered Limited Seals."

"Then this card..."

Thump~!

Holding the card, Miles thought he could hear sothing like a heartbeat coming from within.

Next, the second lock floating on the face of Dystopia emitted a thin black light, shooting straight out of the clubroom door and pointing outside.

A guiding beam—eerily similar to the one the Millennium Puzzle had used to lead Miles out of a barrier once before. Only this ti, the beam was black.

"Could it be? Could that beam be pointing to the place where the second seal can be lifted?!"

At this point, "excited" didn't even begin to describe Nia's mood.

Her XP system was high-Level cards, and as president of the High-Level Spirit Research Society, breaking this God Card's seals would be both physically and emotionally satisfying.

"Let's go, Miss Aisha! The next unsealing step lies ahead—no one can resist that, right?!"

"That's right! Who could say no to unlocking a God Card?!"

In this respect, Miles and Nia were surprisingly in sync. Naturally, Miles also wanted to fully unseal Dystopia, uncover its true nature, and make it usable.

Since both Miles and Nia agreed, Kevin and Rovik had no choice but to go along.

Aisha thought, 'Huh? Since when did Kevin beco our sidekick?'

Following the card's guiding light, the four of them jogged from the third floor of the club building down to the first-floor entrance area.

At first, they thought the beam would lead them straight out of the building.

But instead, just before the main doors, the light suddenly turned, guiding them toward the basent.

The club building's basent usually stored unused equipnt and materials.

Old, abandoned magic circles... rusty knight armor... basically a junk storage area.

Dim and gloomy, the basent felt like a stark contrast to the lively clubs above.

Monts like this always made Miles think of classic school horror rumors: schools built on graveyards to save money, using student vitality to suppress the lingering underground spirits.

Of course, Fusion Academy, being a prestigious noble Duel Academy, would never have a money problem. But that didn't guarantee there wasn't sothing "unclean" underground.

And now... the card's guiding beam pointed even deeper, below the basent level.

Not even Nia and Rovik knew there was a second basent level.

Which made sense—clearly, the Academy had never intended for students to go down there.

Ahead, a thick iron door, chained and locked tight, blocked their way.

"What now? We can't open this," Miles said, frustrated.

Nonetheless, the other three just gave him confused looks.

Can't open it?

Did Miles forget what it ant to be a Duelist?

Did he forget why Duelists were so highly valued, sought after by every nation on the continent?

Because Duelists could, in the blink of an eye, summon Duel Monsters with world-shattering destructive power onto any battlefield.

With crisp determination, Kevin drew a card from his deck and slotted it into his Spirit Eyes.

"Monster Summon! Dunas Dark Witch! Draw your sword and clear our path!"

Boom!

With a thunderous roar, the heavy chains and the iron door itself were blasted apart.

"That... was way too easy?" Now it was Miles's turn to be shocked.

What had seed like a thick, sturdy barrier was, in Fusion Academy terms, barely tougher than a wooden door.

Guess it was more for keeping out the honest folks than stopping real Duelists.
