With the six of us working together it was only a matter of ti before all of the Imps laid dead at our feet. How I wished Alice could have joined in the slaughter so she would have gained a few levels, but her weakness to the sun cheated her out of a chance to grow stronger. With the increase in level and the demon miasma surrounding , I was feeling great and I wished I could say the sa for the others. They looked worse and worse the more they fought, especially Synthia, and it took a few minutes to figure out why, the demon miasma. Angels and priests used holy energy instead of demonic energy which ans they can't absorb demonic energy and if they do, it would probably have a similar effect on them as the [Holy Territory] had on . And since leveling up was all about absorbing the demonic energy inside the demonic creature you killed, I'm guessing they were not gaining any levels from this either.
I put this information at the back of my mind since it wasn't particularly useful at the mont but it might be in the future. Now….there was only one small problem to take care of. The others and I walked over to the injured Greater imp, who was starting to recover thanks to the demon miasma.
"You-" He said before coughing and spitting out so blood. His gaze was filled with hatred, but also sothing else, sothing like a challenge, a desire to battle a powerful opponent. Battle loving lunatic.
"Yes, what about ?" I asked curious at what he was going to say.
"You managed to defeat Grox. It seed lord Hans was right you will indeed be a worthy opponent." He said and I froze, in fact we all did. Wait a fucking minute, aren't these guys the entire group?
"Who is lord Hans?" I asked, dreading what I will hear next
"He is the leader of our horde. He is also the strongest among us, way stronger than Grox." He said, emphasizing the last part with a mocking smile on his face. He knew I barely survived my fight with Grox and he intentionally added the last statent to make us feel afraid and it was working.
"We were just the scouts and were sent here to see whether you were indeed strong and congratulations you passed our test. We shall raze this city to the ground in the na of our lord, and slaughter you all." The Demon said, his eyes twinkling with pride and a mocking smile adorned his lips.
"When will they attack?" I asked
"For that, you'll have to wait and see." The Demon said with a laugh
"Tell now!" I said with a sinister note in my voice and the Demon just continued to laugh. I punched him in the face and he just continued laughing. I continued punching him over and over again but he just continued, I eventually just gave up and decapitated the Demon ending his maniacal laughter.

"Synthia. On a scale of 1 to 10 how much do you think that we are fucked?" If the demon's words were true then 10 for sure.
"I don't think the Demon was lying so definitely 10. I need to get back to the mansion and prepare, if we are going to face an even bigger horde of imps then we are going to need way more priests." Synthia said and took to the sky with the others slowly running after her.
'I guess I need to go back to Alice.' I thought and flew back to my house, bearing of bad news, or good news depending on perspective and whether or not you were a Demon.

"We are so fucked." Alice said. I told her everything that had happened while we were gone and even a detailed account of my fight with Grox and she easily believed it as she felt the impact of the explosion from here. She was also using [Aura Vision] to monitor the fight as much as possible.
"Well as far as I see it we have two options. We can either run or we can stay and fight." I said with a sigh. I always have these two options and I always picked the sa one.
"We are obviously going to stay and fight." She said and I nodded with a smile.
"If we are going to do that then we need a plan. The first thing we need to know is where they are hiding and then we can plan from there." I said, and I already knew they were hiding sowhere within the forest for two reasons. This entire city was surrounded by a forest that was around 100s of km in diater which ans they were either nearby or the imps were incredibly fast. The second is that a group, whether demon or not, needed food which the forest provided given you were strong enough. And those guys were definitely strong enough, and with the number of demonic beasts in the forest, plus the low hanging demon miasma, they could camouflage perfectly in the forest.
"We need to scout the forest and search for the imps." I said
"Huh, won't Synthia and the others help?" Alice asked with a frown.
"No they won't have the ti. They will be busy training the humans and hopefully they will get enough to be more than at shields on the battlefield." I said and I sincerely hoped that they will be strong enough to face whatever horrors we are going to face.
