Inside the shrine's traditional room, the hazy afternoon sunlight filtered softly through the paper windows. A blonde girl dressed in a shrine maiden outfit lay curled up on the tatami mat. Six fluffy golden fox tails wrapped snugly around her body, forming a warm, cozy nest of fur.

"What about you, Mother? Didn't you nap today?"

Yasaka lowered her gaze and answered quietly — but then smiled again.
"I just didn't feel like sleeping today. Kunou, if you're still tired, do you want to rest a bit longer?"

Showing remarkable self-discipline, the little fox girl shook her head firmly.
"I have to go patrol the mountain. I can't change the schedule just because I'm tired."

"It's Bokue-nii! Bokue-nii is back!"
