"Rias and Koneko."
Sona stood up. A chilling wave of perception enveloped the entire villa.
Sona's sudden reaction startled the other girls. Momo and the rest looked toward Yasuhiro's room, wondering what he had done to make their president react so intensely.
Sona frowned slightly. She couldn't detect a single trace of Rias or Koneko not just in this room but in the entire villa.
Sona looked at Yasuhiro with a puzzled expression.
Yasuhiro didn't say much. He simply reached out and gently tapped the air.
An embarrassed Rias and an expressionless Koneko appeared right in front of them.
"Sona, would you believe if I said we just happened to be passing by?" Rias asked awkwardly.
"Do you really expect to believe that?" Sona stared at her expressionlessly.
"You just happened to visit our villa and just happened to wander into this specific room. Furthermore, it just happens to be the day I'm sharing the bed with Yasuhiro."
"Don't you think that is a few too many coincidences?"
"Okay, I admit we were a little curious at first," Rias replied in a weak voice.
"Rias, your actions would make anyone who bears the Gremory na weep."
Faced with Sona's strict lecture, Rias raised her hands in defeat. "Sona, I admit I was wrong. I'll reflect deeply on my actions."
"And as for you, Koneko." Sona was about to continue her scolding but the words caught in her throat.
She saw Koneko standing there, her usually lifeless eyes now brimming with heavy tears.
The maternal instincts hidden deep within her heart took over.
She walked tenderly toward Koneko and spoke softly. "You heard everything we just said."
"I-i'm sorry president. Is it true? About my sister and Yasuhiro?" Koneko tried hard to hold back her sobs.
Rias didn't know how to comfort her servant.
She and Koneko had arrived just as Yasuhiro revealed that her brother was a transcendent.
While Rias felt a surge of pride learning her brother was a transcendent sitting above the maou class, she felt angry about the truth behind Kuroka and Koneko's past.
She had taken Koneko in as a child and always treated her like a sister. She never expected that the girl's actual history was far more tragic than the official story.
Fortunately, Koneko did not retain many mories of those traumatic experints.
Hearing the truth erased all the resentnt she held toward Kuroka.
Seeing that the truth was finally out in the open...
"Koneko, you should know in your heart whether my words are true or false," Yasuhiro said.
"Now that you have begun to awaken your nekomata power and have shown exceptional talent in mastering senjutsu."
"You should know better than anyone else..."
Koneko was incredibly talented. Her potential rivaled her Kuroka and it was certain she held even greater aptitude.
Just monts ago, relying purely on her awakened nekomata instincts she had used senjutsu to shield both herself and Rias from the senses of Sona at point blank range.
It was obvious she was gifted with such abilities.
Yasuhiro's words made Koneko pause.
It made perfect sense.
The power she had painstakingly suppressed deep within her body was now flowing smoothly without any sense of awkwardness or artificial strain.
"I need to find my sister," Koneko cried out. She couldn't wait another second and rushed out the door.
"Welp, I won't disturb your evening any further," Rias whispered and moved quickly toward the exit.
"Hold on, Rias. You encouraged Koneko to sneak in here and eavesdrop."
"You don't honestly think you can just walk away from this, do you?" Yasuhiro asked smoothly.
Rias stopped dead in her tracks, looking at Yasuhiro with deep caution.
What's he planning?
Even when enduring Sona's strict lectures, she preferred that over confronting this bastard.
Every ti she clashed with him, she ended up suffering a total defeat.
"Rias, when you do sothing wrong, you must accept a punishnt. I'll give you two choices," Yasuhiro continued with a teasing smile.
Standing off to the side, Sona knew Rias was in trouble.
However, Sona had no intention of stopping him. Rias's actions today had made her feel embarrassed and annoyed, as if she had been put on display for an audience.
What were her choices?
Rias's vigilance increased.
"First, starting tomorrow, you will work as a maid here at the villa for one full day," Yasuhiro offered.
"That's impossible," Rias interrupted loudly.
She explained that as the heir to the Gremory clan, she'd never serve as a maid for anyone else not even for a single day.
Sona shook her head.
Knowing Rias's pride, it was obvious Yasuhiro's plan to turn her into a maid was dood to fail.
Yasuhiro fully expected her refusal.
He casually replied, "That's fine if you don't want to be a maid. I doubt a pampered girl like you is even capable of serving others."
"It would probably be a loss for us anyway since we would end up having to clean up after you."
"Hmph." Rias gave an annoyed look.
"Well, I was planning to keep a cal in the yard. If you agree to take care of it for a week, I won't trouble you later."
"How does that sound?" Yasuhiro suggested jokingly.
"Do we have a deal?"
The mont Rias heard the word cal, her expression drastically changed. Highly unpleasant mories surfaced in her mind.
Sona glanced at Yasuhiro in genuine surprise.
Few people knew that Rias harbored intense disgust for cals. She highly doubted he actually knew about her phobia.
He was probably just naming the first random animal that ca to his mind.
When Rias was just a young girl, her behavior led her to be surrounded and overwheld by a large herd of cals on the Gremory clan's territory.
The incident left her with severe psychological trauma. Ever since that day, she hated cals.
