It's here!
It's finally our turn!
Everyone in the square began to breathe heavily, their chests heaving violently, and the flas in their eyes were ignited.
Zhou Huai's gaze suddenly sharpened.
"Qin Ming, Jasmine!"
Upon hearing this, the two strode out from the front of the line.
Without the slightest hesitation, he knelt down on one knee again, the movent swift and decisive.
"Your subordinate is here!"
Zhou Huai's gaze swept past them and landed on all the guild mbers who were eagerly waiting in the square. His voice was as loud as a bell, resounding through the sky.
"I have summoned you all here today for only one thing!"
"I will send you to Jiangning City!"
"Join the military forces of Dongning Province!"
He paused slightly, letting each word strike deep into everyone's hearts, before his voice suddenly rose in pitch.
"I've already spoken with Governor Hou Changfeng; you're not so kind of reserve force!"
"You are the first sharp knife that Dongning Province is using to pierce the heart of the Land of Cherry Blossoms! You are the vanguard!"
"boom!"
The crowd erupted in cheers.
Vanguard!
These four words represent glory, trust, and even more so, tragic sacrifice!
But no one showed fear on their faces; instead, their eyes were bloodshot and they were trembling with excitent.
Zhou Huai looked at them, and his voice rang out again.
"rember!"
"You are people of Eternal Night, but even more so, you are people of Great Xia!"
"We, the Eternal Night Guild, have no cowards!"
At this point, a genuine smile finally appeared on his usually calm face.
His voice softened slightly, yet it was more powerful than any of his previous words.
"I am honored to be your [N O V E L I G H T] lord!"
At this mont, all emotions found an outlet.
It's unclear who was the first to take the lead, but they all roared out with all their might.
Long live the eternal night!
The next second, a roaring sound, like a mountain collapsing and a tsunami crashing, converged into one, shooting straight into the sky, as if to shake the clouds in the sky apart.
Long live the eternal night!
"Eternal Night will prevail!"
The fervent shouts continued for a long ti, echoing throughout the guild's headquarters.
Zhou Huai smiled with satisfaction and raised his hand again, signaling everyone to be quiet.
The noise stopped abruptly.
He looked at the faces before him, flushed with excitent, and said softly.
"Everyone, take care."
"I'm here, waiting for your triumphant return!"
The words fell.
In the square, the 3,500 mbers of the Eternal Night Guild remained silent.
They simply bowed deeply, silently and with utmost solemnity, to the handso young man in the wheelchair.
This bow is an expression of loyalty.
It is a trust.
It was also... a farewell.
Qin Ming and Jasmine stood up, turned around, and faced their companions behind them.
Jasmine drew her long sword from her waist, pointed it forward, and let out a clear and lodious shout.
"Eternal Night Guild, all mbers, please!"
"Target: Jiangning City!"
"Set off!"
"yes!"
Amidst the unified responses, the massive procession began to move slowly.
Three thousand five hundred people, transford into a black torrent, marched away from the guild square with heavy but firm steps, heading towards the assembly point outside the city.
Uncle Fu pushed the wheelchair and stood silently behind Zhou Huai.
Zhou Huai didn't speak, but simply watched the long black dragon disappear into the distance until the last figure vanished at the end of the street.
In the empty square, only he and Uncle Fu remained.
The autumn wind swirled up a few fallen leaves, making them dance around my feet.
It looked sowhat desolate.
Zhou Huai had no choice.
The only solution is to address the root cause.
If the Great Xia is defeated, or if the Pendulum of Life is not seized.
There is only one outco left for him.
That is death.
Keeping people around is pointless.
It would be better to send them all to the battlefield to maximize their effectiveness.
Zhou Huai looked at Uncle Fu, his voice calm.
"Uncle Fu, let's go back to Mother's villa."
Even though I've been in the guild for so long.
But for so reason, I always feel more comfortable staying in that little villa.
Uncle Fu smiled and nodded, "Alright, this old servant will take you back to the other courtyard now."
Of course, this was not a spur-of-the-mont idea by Zhou Huai.
He had wanted to go back there for a long ti.
Several days earlier, Zhou Huai had already instructed Zhuge Kongming to secretly set up a ticulous defensive formation outside the villa.
His mother's villa was where his dreams began; if he were to die, let him die peacefully there.
Zhou Huai thought to himself calmly.
It was very late at night.
Above the East China Sea.
The boundless sea, under the cover of night, resembled a huge black ribbon, calm and without a ripple.
On a remote island, the lights are on.
This is the most important military outpost of the Sakura Kingdom in the East China Sea, heavily guarded and surrounded by a protective array capable of withstanding a full-force attack from an SS-level expert.
On the watchtower, several soldiers from the Sakura Kingdom were idly smoking and chatting.
"Do you think those idiots from the Great Xia Kingdom would really dare to attack?"
"Who knows? I think they're all talk and no action, just empty slogans."
"That's right. With Lord Kujo there, and those legendary powerhouses, they wouldn't dare even if they had a hundred lives!"
As soon as he finished speaking, a soldier suddenly shivered.
"Strange, why has it suddenly gotten cold?"
Upon hearing this, everyone sensed that sothing was amiss.
The temperature is dropping at an abnormally rapid rate.
Just then, a thick fog rose from the sea without warning.
The fog was as thick as ink that couldn't be dissolved, surging in from all directions at an astonishing speed.
In just over ten seconds, it completely swallowed the entire island.
Visibility dropped to less than three ters in an instant.
"Baka! What's going on?"
"I can't see anything!"
The soldiers on the watchtower panicked instantly. They dropped their cigarettes and stared intently at the swirling fog in front of them, trying to make out sothing, but to no avail.
A seasoned veteran, pale-faced, leaned over the railing, peering down at the sea below.
The next second, his pupils suddenly shrank to pinpoints.
He witnessed a scene he would never forget.
The sea, which was just gently undulating, began to freeze over without anyone noticing!
The ice spread at a visible speed, and wherever it passed, the seawater instantly froze into a pure white expanse.
That wasn't a natural freeze.
"Quickly! Sound the alarm!"
The veteran mustered all his strength and let out a hoarse roar.
"Enemy attack!!!"
At the sa ti that the alarm sounded.
"boom--!!!"
A thick, crimson pillar of fire, like the wrath of a god, suddenly shot out from the depths of the thick fog.
It tore through the darkness, illuminated the night sky, and with a terrifying power that could burn everything, it crashed heavily into the semi-transparent protective barrier surrounding the island!
The barrier shook violently, and visible ripples spread across its surface.
This is just the beginning.
The next second.
Countless ranged spells of various colors, like the most dazzling teor shower on a sumr night, swept in from all directions of the thick fog.
Giant ice spikes, howling tornadoes, lightning spears crackling with purple electricity, and tens of thousands of teorites burning with raging flas...
They converged into a destructive torrent, unleashing a deafening shriek as they poured down upon the protective barrier!
