It was unfortunate that the grand magus's power was not fully compatible with Ery's, resulting in the Spirit Devour being less effective. To exacerbate matters, the intensified heat of the flas began to sear Ery's internal core. The perceptive grand magus seized upon this weakness, deciding to intensify the flas, turning the area around them into burning molten balls.
Ery writhed in agony, not possessing the strength to resist such an overwhelming force, and found himself being burned both internally and externally. The overwhelming heat threatened to consu him entirely when, unexpectedly, a portal materialized beside him.
