Ery soared through the sky across the continent, the beauty of the landscapes and the many people he could see through his divine sense further made him feel fortunate for the world he lived in. As he finally reached Brittania and flew down to the Fey village, he was quickly welcod with joy. He spent a little ti with the Fey sisters before Tyra, the high priestess, led him into the shrine.
The magical place never ceased to amaze him. The sparkling blue lake, the glowing leaves, and the massive roots of the ancient trees created a serene and awe-inspiring atmosphere. Ery approached the huge mystical tree at the center and gently placed his palm on its surface.
Just like before, there were no dreams, no visuals, not even whispers; It seed as though the primordial being within had fallen into a deep slumber.
Ery took his ti, focusing his thoughts and energy. He cast [Nature Grasp], whispering his thoughts and questions, he sought answers. The tranquility of the shrine deepened as Ery waited. Minutes passed, and he felt a shift within the tree. Instead of receiving any answers, Ery was enveloped in a flow of nature energy. It was an intense, almost overwhelming surge, rich and thick enough to reach into his core. It had been a while since Ery felt such pure and light energy; it was a warmth that felt like returning ho, embraced by family. To his surprise, the nature energy could even flow into his aperture.
'What is going on?' Ery wondered, his curiosity piqued.
Swiftly, he entered his Magus domain to observe the changes. The energy didn't dissipate as he had expected. Instead, it flew around like threads of light. They moved gracefully, weaving through the air before heading toward the forest within his domain.
"Could it be?" Ery whispered, his eyes widening in realization.
The threads of energy made their way to the small seedling of the [Elysian Tree]. They approached it softly, tenderly, before rging with the seedling.
Ery watched in amazent as the natural energy flowed continuously from the Gaia tree into the Elysian seedling. It was a seamless transfer, one that indicated a deep, intrinsic connection between the two.
Minutes passed, and Ery could see a detectable growth in the seedling. It was slow but steady, each mont bringing new life and vigor to the tiny plant. The once-small seedling now seed more robust, its leaves greener and its stem sturdier. Before long, a bud erged from it, signifying a new stage of growth.
Sensing the profound change in its developnt, Ery sat in the lotus position and let his consciousness delve deeper into the process. He closed his eyes and focused, allowing his mind to synchronize with the energy flow. The connection between the Gaia tree and the Elysian seedling felt almost like a heartbeat, a rhythmic pulse of life that resonated through him.
The surroundings beca a blur as Ery's awareness tunneled into the essence of the seedling. He could feel the intricate dance of energy threads weaving through its structure, binding it with the ancient power of the Gaia tree.
Minutes turned into hours, and hours into days.
After three days of intense focus, Ery finally opened his eyes. Before him stood the Elysian Tree, now grown to a height equal to his own. Its majestic presence was awe-inspiring. The once-small seedling had transford into a robust sapling, with multiple thick trunks and roots that were as large as his limbs. The tree's surface was a deep, dark green, accentuated by bright, glowing green strokes that coursed across its body like veins, pulsating with life.
A sense of triumph filled Ery as he received the ssage:
[Congratulations, the Elysian seedlings have grown into saplings.]
The growth, which should have taken over 500 years, had been achieved in re days. Ery was elated by the rapid developnt and vitality of the tree, prompting him to ponder Gaia's relationship with and intentions for the Elysian tree.
However, his celebration was cut short as he detected sothing unusual in the area surrounding the tree. A sudden and alarming ssage from the VIA system interrupted his thoughts:
[Warning! Anomaly detected.]
[Analyzing…]
Ery's heart raced as he observed the Elysian Tree. The once-sturdy tree now appeared to be withering slowly. Its once vibrant green hue was fading, and the roots, which were anchored deep into the ground, shook restlessly.
[Warning! Unstable growth.]
[Analyzing…]
Panic began to set in as Ery tried to understand the situation. The tree was deteriorating before his eyes. [Probelm identified, Substances are needed]
"What kind of substance?!" Ery demanded, his voice filled with urgency.
[Analyzing…]
The system's response was slow to co, adding to Ery's growing anxiety. He watched helplessly as the Elysian Tree's once-promising growth seed to unravel. The glowing veins that had adorned its surface were dimming, and the energy that had once surged through the tree now seed to be dissipating.
Multiple pieces of information flooded Ery's mind. The factual truth was that plants require various essentials for survival: water, sunlight, and nutrients from the soil. It suggested that the Elysian Tree's instability might be due to a lack of these critical resources within one's domain. Amid this chaos, Ery observed a disturbing sight. The ground beneath the Elysian Tree began to dry out rapidly. The once-fertile soil was turning to dust, and the roots of the tree started to extend beyond their intended area. The grass that ca into contact with the roots turned to ash, and nearby trees withered and fell, their vitality drained by the aggressive spread of the Elysian roots.
The situation grew even more alarming as Ery noticed young Chizpurs that had been observing the scene in secret—panicking and fleeing. The roots of the Elysian Tree seed to be targeting them, causing a frenzy as they tried to escape the advancing tendrils.
"Stop!! Stop!!" Ery shouted, desperately trying to intervene. However, he realized that his own feet were ensnared by the Elysian roots. The roots had coiled tightly around his legs, and he could feel his strength waning as if life itself was being siphoned away.
Ery struggled against the roots, but his efforts were futile. The energy that once empowered him now seed to be drained, a side effect of the chaos happening in his domain. The sky started to change, and the beasts living on the land turned restless, with even the slumbering ones in the north stirring in unease.
In the midst of this turmoil, Twik arrived, coming to rescue the young Chizpurs. Twik's presence was both a relief and a concern. Ery shouted a warning:
"No, Twik! Go away! Don't co any closer!"
Unfortunately, Ery's warning ca too late. Despite his desperate cries, Twik was swiftly ensnared by the aggressive roots of the Elysian Tree. Panic surged through Ery as he watched Twik beco increasingly entangled in the strange, constricting tendrils.
Livi the Baphamot arrived on the scene, urgently trying to cut through the encroaching roots with her scythe. Her efforts proved futile as the roots seed impervious to her attacks. In a mont of desperation, Livi called out:
"Master, l need a stronger weapon!"
Ery quickly summoned the [Eldritch Staff] with a swift gesture. As the staff materialized, Livi reached out to grab it, but in a shocking turn of events, a root snatched the staff from her grasp. Multiple roots converged on the dark wooden staff, seemingly drawn to it with an almost magnetic attraction. The roots even began to release their grip on both him and Twik as they focused their attention on the staff.
[High-grade substance received]
Surprisingly, VIA clarified that, in addition to water, sunlight, and planetary energy, the tree could also absorb high-level wood materials as a form of sustenance. Ery took a deep breath, exhaling slowly as he watched his precious Tier 7 weapon, the Eldritch Staff, being absorbed by the Elysian Tree. While the loss of such a valuable artifact weighed heavily on him, the knowledge that it had saved Twik and helped restore the Elysian Tree brought a profound sense of relief.
Gradually, the Elysian Tree began to undergo a remarkable transformation. Its once-withered branches and roots started to rejuvenate, pulsating with vibrant life. The sky above turned a vibrant blue, and the breeze carried an invigorating scent of nature's purity. As the transformation unfolded, information ca into his mind, providing updates on the effects of the revitalization:
