Ery's claws surged with power, his void blade spell sharpened to its peak.
He launched his attack with unrelenting ferocity, striking directly at Talaro, the Grand Magus. His claws tore through the shimring defensive aura that protected the dark elf and splattered blood as his claws pierced deep into Talaro's chest.
It wasn't enough.
Ery didn't hesitate, summoning his Elysian roots. The glowing tendrils erupted from the ground, wrapping themselves around Talaro with precision, tightening around his limbs and torso. They were ready to bind him long enough for Ery to unleash his devastating Spirit Devour ability.
Just as the roots locked around Talaro's body, the Grand Magus smirked.
With a flicker of energy, his figure began to dissolve, his spatial magic activating. Before Ery could stop him, Talaro blinked away, reappearing at a safer distance, above one of the Citadel City buildings.
"Dammit!" Ery cursed, his frustration boiling over.
He had gambled on Talaro's frail physique, hoping the sudden close-range attack would deal a decisive blow. But the Grand Magus's spatial mastery proved to be an infuriating advantage.
Refusing to give his opponent a chance to recover, Ery activated his spatial bending, warping himself forward to pursue the elf. However, a group of dark elf magus stepped into his path.
Ery surged forward with ruthless determination, tearing through their ranks with raw power. His claws and spells made short work of their initial line, but more reinforcents appeared to replace the fallen.
He leaped onto a nearby building to gain height, his eyes locked on Talaro, who stood atop a tower further ahead.
Before he could move again, Talaro unleashed a new force from his domain.
Ten dark elf magus cloaked in black erged—Void Stalkers—their bodies humming with energy. Each of them was a peak full-moon magus, their combined presence a palpable threat. As Ery tried to warp forward again, these elite units could block his spatial movent, forcing him back and falling, and being attacked by the elven Magus warriors once again.
"Wow… this is not fair, is it?" he muttered.
With his agility and strength, Ery could handle any of these dark elves, but with Talaro recovering in the distance, he knew he would be in big trouble soon. Deciding not to waste any more ti, Ery activated his Soaring Wings and launched himself into the sky.
However, another figure blocked his path—the massive elder dragon. Its thunderous roar reverberated through the air, unleashing a powerful shockwave that sent Ery hurtling back to the ground, crashing into the rubble below.
"Definitely not fair!!" Ery spat, pushing himself to his feet.
Surrounded on all sides, Ery watched as his enemies hesitated, their movents freezing as they turned to the grand magus. Talaro's wounds were now fully healed, and he stood atop a crumbling building, glaring down at Ery with irritation.
"No one touch him!" Talaro commanded.
The grand magus disappeared, phasing through space and reappearing directly in front of Ery. His cold, piercing gaze bore into him.
"Let's have a fair fight then. You and …"
As soon as the words left his mouth, Ery felt a familiar, oppressive energy flood the area—the unmistakable aura of Khaos. Talaro's seemingly ordinary form began to shift. His dark elven skin turned an eerie bluish pale, his eyes glowed a piercing light blue, and an armor of jagged bones materialized, encasing his body like a second skin.
The sheer power emanating from Talaro's transford state was overwhelming.
Ery knew he had no choice but to respond in kind.
With a deep breath, he tapped into the feral force within him.
[Primal Transformation]
[Integration: 20% achieved]
His claws lengthened and sharpened, his muscles bulged, and his aura intensified, becoming a primal storm of raw power.
Talaro summoned a chilling bone saber, its edge radiating a deadly frost, while Ery's claws glowed with the sharp void energy of his magic. The two clashed, their weapons colliding with an explosive impact.
BAMMM!!!
The sheer force of the strike sent shockwaves rippling through the air. Ery's enhanced claws buckled under the saber's weight, his arms shattering from the overwhelming power. He was forced to his knees, pain shooting through his body.
"ARGHH!!!"
For a fleeting mont, Ery realized his earlier success had been luck, a well-tid surprise attack on the unsuspecting grand magus. But now, against Talaro's true form, he was hopelessly outmatched.
Desperation spurred him to act. He bent space around him, narrowly evading Talaro's follow-up strike. With the split-second reprieve, he channeled his energy, activating [Immortal Gate Stage 9] to bolster his defenses.
Talaro's second attack ca with brutal force, and though Ery managed to block it, the impact sent him hurtling dozens of ters backward. His body crashed into the rubble, and icy energy from the attack spread through his arms, freezing parts of his flesh.
"Damn it, he's too strong," Ery muttered through gritted teeth, forcing himself back to his feet.
Despite Talaro being overwhelming stronger, all the dark elves watch in amazent, seeing how a re magus could stand these powerful attacks.
Talaro shows the sa surprise; he held his steps and said
"You are worthy to be a Khaos champion," Talaro said, his tone a chilling mixture of admiration and nace. He paused, lowering his weapon slightly. "Why don't you join ? If you swear allegiance to and the empire... I'll make you one of the guardians. I'll even give you a better position than Ezekiel."
The words caught Ery off guard. His narrowed gaze locked onto Talaro as he processed the offer.
Taking a deep breath, he asked cautiously, "What about my family... my friends?"
Talaro chuckled, the sound dripping with mockery. "You think you're the only human to switch sides? Of course, you can bring them over too."
Feigning interest, Ery pressed further. "Really? What about my faction?"
Talaro's expression flickered, a montary hesitation breaking through his confident facade. "…Sure. Bring them with you."
Ery tilted his head, feigning a thoughtful expression as a smirk tugged at his lips. "How generous of you. And my people? My entire planet? Can I bring them too?"
The grand magus's patience snapped. His pale face twisted with fury, his glowing eyes narrowing as his voice rose in anger.
"You dare to mock ... Now... you die!"
However, just as Talaro was about to finish his target, he suddenly received information that irritated him.
This was why Ery had been running, resisting, and buying as much ti as he could. It was all because VIA had been tracking the reinforcents, and now they had finally arrived above, ready to attack the elven mothership.
