Now reading: Chapter 2754: Madness from Earth's Greatest Magus, a Adventure novel by Avan.

Dozens of crazed magus ca charging mindlessly, their spells wild and uncoordinated, while the few Grand Magus hid safely behind them, using the mob as living shields.

Ery saw the madness spread like wildfire through the crowd. His golden eyes narrowed, and he steadied his breathing. He had no desire to slaughter them all.

So instead—he drew upon the cosmic energy from deep within his core. The power surged through his body like thunder rolling across the heavens.

Then—

"HOOOOOWL!!"

A thunderous, cosmic-laced howl burst from his throat and rippled across the battlefield. The sound split the air, shaking windows and shattering wards. The shockwave hit every lesser magus like a tidal wave.

Those below the Grand Magus realm were instantly overwheld. So collapsed where they stood, eyes rolling back. Others scread, clutching their heads, before vomiting blood and falling to their knees.

It was Ery’s innate ability — [Battle Howl], enhanced by his powerful soul force, turning it into a devastating ntal assault. With a single roar, he had halted the mob without shedding unnecessary blood.

Aelric—the occult leader—staggered back in disbelief as the intricate layers of his enhancent spell shattered like glass. The proud cult leader saw clearly the man standing before him was no ordinary halfblood Grand Magus.

Yet, the other Grand Magus around him did not share his fear.

In that brief silence, Ery felt six new auras flare to life across the field — six more Grand Magus, each one emanating the distinct pulse of a one-cosmos realm. Together with Aelric the Occultist and the three he’d already been fighting, there were now ten Grand Magus converging on him.

The air thickened.

To stand against such overwhelming might, Ery knew he’d have to unleash his primal transformation — yet doing so would expose far too much of his strength. He wasn’t ready for that. Not in front so many eyes.

Instead, he took a deep breath and raised his hand. A silver mirror unfolded from his ring, splitting and rotating into four seamless panels that shimred with runes of light. They orbited him in perfect synchronicity, their edges bending space itself.

The artifact pulsed—its magic resonant and divine.

[Fourfold Dawn], his new tier-7 treasure, ca to life.

Four gleaming mirrors ford a rotating barrier around him, their reflections distorting every incoming spell. Bolts of fire, shards of ice, and waves of darkness slamd into the barrier—only to be absorbed and redirected harmlessly aside.

"A Tier-7 artifact?!" soone shouted in disbelief.

Gasps rippled through the ranks of Grand Magus. Yet rather than discouraging them, it only fanned the flas of their greed.

"That treasure is mine!" roared Revan the Phantom Thief, eyes gleaming with avarice.

The battle resud in a frenzy. The six one-cosmos magus hurled their spells from afar, but none could breach the Fourfold Dawn’s protection. Veyrun, the skeletal bone sculptor, tried to push through, but his massive form was far too slow. Maldrin, the Midnight Demon, relied on sheer force, hamring his way forward despite his growing injuries.

Each unleashed their strongest moves—

Maldrin, the Midnight Demon, his entire body erupting in a storm of blood mist that pulsed like a living organism, he thrust his clawed hand forward as he unleasehed [Bloodborne Cataclysm] A massive surge of condensed blood energy coalesced into a claw larger than a house, the air screaming as it descended like a teor.

From the other flank ca Revan the Phantom Thief, his form flickering in and out of sight like a ghost through shattered glass. Within that blur, he launched his strike [Silent Requiem] a killing art ant to slice through the heart without sound or resistance.

But inside the swirling Fourfold Dawn, Ery has been preparing his own attack. His expression calm. His body still.

On each arm, he now gripped a sword.

The Embernight Sword flared alive—its edge dripping molten fla, wreathed in the roar of abyssal infernos.

On the other, the Frostveil Blade exhaled a chilling mist that froze the very air, leaving fractal patterns of ice suspended mid-motion.

His voice was calm yet resonant as he spoke two nas.

"Killgragah... Daurgototh."

The air trembled as the power of both Khaos Guardians surged into his arms.

Ery’s eyes mirrored their might—his left blazing scarlet, his right gleaming with an icy blue light.

He exhaled slowly, and his voice carried across the chaos like a divine decree.

"Dao Sword of Ice and Fire... First Form — Frostfire Rend."

With the newly acquired Frostveil in hand, the strike beca far more than it had ever been before. The power of ice rged with the ancient fla of Embernight, and the two opposing forces began to spiral violently, devouring one another in a dance of destruction.

From deep within that blade ca a deafening roar—half the cry of a dragon, half the shriek of a glacial wyrm. The heavens trembled. Clouds shredded apart. The very light seed to bend around the burning, freezing edge of Ery’s power.

Revan and Maldrin froze mid-motion, their eyes widening as their own attacks were utterly consud by the descending strike.

"What—?!" Revan’s voice broke in panic.

Maldrin’s instincts scread danger. He tore a chain necklace from around his neck, shattering the runes engraved into it. Instantly, a thick blood mist burst from his chest, swirling around his body and condensing into a crimson armor covered in demonic sigils. The stench of iron and decay filled the air.

anwhile, Revan’s greed turned to horror. The phantom thief, who only monts ago had dread of stealing Ery’s treasures, now realized his folly. His dagger trembled in his grip as the blazing arc of energy engulfed him.

KABOOOOOM!!!

The world seems to vanished in light and thunder.

A massive explosion swallowed the battlefield, expanding outward like a miniature sun. The shockwave flattened everything in its path—walls shattered, stone streets tore open, and hundreds of lesser magus were hurled through the air like ragdolls. So hit the ground unconscious; others never rose again.

The entire city quaked under the impact.

When the blinding glow finally began to fade, the battlefield was unrecognizable. Flas and frost covered everything—the air shimred with heat in one direction and glittered with ice crystals in the other.

And in the very center, hovering amid the swirling debris, was a lone figure.

Ery.

Half human, half wolf, his form was draped in celestial radiance. One side of his body shimred with white-blue frost, the other blazed with crimson fire. Behind him, the four silver mirrors of Fourfold Dawn floated in silent orbit, their surfaces gleaming with the reflection of his divine form.

The crowd gasped in unison. To them, he no longer looked like a man—he was a living manifestation of destruction and order intertwined.

Maldrin still stood—barely. Half of his armor had lted away, and his demonic blood sizzled as it struggled to heal his charred flesh. With a guttural groan, the Midnight Demon dropped to one knee, black smoke rising from his body. As for Revan, the phantom thief—he was nowhere to be seen. Vanished completely. Dead or escaped, no one could tell.

Seeing such destructive force, the battlefield fell into uneasy silence. Fear returned to every gaze. Many who had been clouded by greed now regained their senses, the lingering echo of Ery’s spirit attack clearing their thoughts like a cold wave. None wished to move. None wanted to die over the business of other factions—or for re treasure.

"Urghhh!!" Maldrin growled, his burning eyes scanning the hesitant faces around him. Veyrun, the bone sculptor, stood pale and trembling. Aelric, the occultist, stayed silent, his expression dark and unreadable. When Maldrin t his eyes, the man only shook his head in refusal.

The Midnight Demon finally exhaled heavily and snarled, "You may go... Take all the prisoners if you want—just leave the man you captured behind."

Ery gave no answer. He simply stared, expression unreadable.

Then, from behind him, the air cracked open—revealing Annara, stepping through the fractured ground. She landed lightly, her crimson eyes narrowing as she moved to his side.

"I got them," she said, brushing dust off her coat. "We can leave now."

Ery nodded. "Took you long enough."

Annara rolled her eyes with a short grunt. "You made such a ss. Of course it’s hard."

Apparently, Ery had been waiting for Annara all along. While he was rescuing prisoners and drawing everyone’s attention, Annara had been secretly carrying out another plan.

Now that it was all done, without another word, Ery raised his hand and began to weave spatial runes into the air. The sigils glowed white-dark, humming with power. A swirling portal began to open.

"He’s escaping! Stop him!!" Maldrin bellowed, fury overtaking fear as he charged forward alone. His demonic aura roared to life, shaking the ground beneath his steps.

Ery turned his gaze toward him—calm, cold, final. As much as he wished to teach this so-called leader a harder lesson, Maldrin’s demonic resilience made him nearly impossible to kill here. Not now. Not yet.

His eyes flashed silver as he invoked [Spectral Gaze]—a chilling force that seized Maldrin’s body mid-charge. The demon froze, teeth grinding, unable to move for a single heartbeat.

That was all Ery needed. He and Annara stepped through the portal, and in a shimr of light, they vanished.

The clearing was left in ruins and silence. The gathered magus stared, so in relief, others in awe. The figure of the Silver Wolf half-blood would linger in their minds long after this.

Maldrin’s voice broke the stillness as he roared again, "Search for him!! He couldn’t have gone far!!"
