Ery stepped out of the Supre hall with a new weight resting in his palm.
It was a dark tallic badge, simple in shape yet carved with intricate sigils that shimred faintly when touched by spiritual energy. The mark of the Stellar Beast Emperor.
Monts ago, he had been a candidate. Now he carried a status that placed him even higher than the Beast Union elites-a disciple to the Supre Emperor.
Waiting for him outside stood the dragon hybrid Supre who had conducted the blood test. His expression was no longer stern or scrutinizing. There was an ease to him now, a shift in tone that mirrored Ery's change in position.
"You may call Senior Xernas," the Supre said.
Ery hesitated.
To address a Supre as "Senior" rather than "Elder" bordered on impropriety. The difference in realm alone demanded formality.
Xernas seed to read the hesitation.
"You are now my Master's disciple," he clarified. "Calling Senior is appropriate."
Ery inclined his head. "Yes, Senior."
They exited the pyramid-like structure and without warning, Xernas's body began to shift.
His humanoid fra expanded and reshaped, scales forming along his limbs as his silhouette elongated. Within seconds, he had transford into a majestic quadrupedal beast. His body resembled that of a celestial horse, yet covered in dragon scales that shimred like polished jade. Two elegant horns curved backward from his brow like those of a deer, and a mane of faint lightning crackled along his spine.
A Qilin.
Not rely a hybrid dragon-but a Qilin of ancient blood.
"Let's not waste ti... Hop on," his deep voice resonated.
For a brief mont, Ery stood stunned. Riding a Supre being-even in beast form-felt absurd.
Xernas shot him a sideways glance.
The next instant, Ery felt a force lift him effortlessly onto the Qilin's back. The wind burst violently around them as they surged forward.
There was no gradual acceleration. One mont they stood before the Supre structure, and the next the world had already fallen behind them. The scenery stretched into long streaks of light as distance collapsed under the Qilin's overwhelming speed.
Ery steadied himself, maintaining his balance atop the scaled back of the Supre. As they cut across the sky, he recalled the common saying that many hybrid cultivators were less bound by human customs and social restraint. Their instincts were more direct, more primal.
Watching the Supre, Ery could not help but agree.
Within seconds, they exited the inner domain of the Supre sector and descended toward the Hall of Supre Knowledge.
As they landed near the entrance, Xernas shifted back into human form. Ery was gently deposited onto the marble floor before the transformation completed.
To his surprise, their destination was not a private chamber within the Supre sector-but the Chamber of Knowledge itself.
Xernas spoke briefly with the chanical administrator. The construct bowed and opened the inner gate without question.
They entered.
Inside stretched a vast stone corridor lined with towering pillars and archways that seed carved from a single mountain. The air was heavier here, saturated with layers of lingering power.
They reached a massive hall.
Stone tablets stood in ordered rows, each inscribed with glowing characters.
Ery's divine sense brushed against the nearest one.
Information flowed into his mind.
Each tablet represented a Supre chamber. Each chamber housed a fragnt of a Supre's legacy-insights, techniques, comprehension refined over centuries.
He recognized so nas imdiately.
Blood Sea Ancestor, Star Phoenix, Alduin Talon. Even Rosin Karat.
Curiosity drew him to Rosin's tablet.
[Profound Law of Golden tal]
[Requirents: Deep comprehension in Law of tal]
As he focused, a projection unfolded in his mind-a defensive technique that hardened the body into radiant golden armor. Eight progressive stages refined flesh into near-indestructible alloy. Ery acknowledged it instantly: the
fad Golden Form of the Karat lineage.
Below the description was the cost.
[1000 Palace Points - One Week]
He speculate, to truly inherit the full legacy would likely require repeated visits. The cost was significant-but compared to studying written tos, the chamber should have provided direct exposure to the Supre's
comprehension itself.
He turned toward another tablet, only for Xernas to place a hand lightly in
front of him.
"This is not our destination."
They passed beyond the main rows of Supre tablets toward a section few
seed permitted to approach.
The air grew noticeably heavier with each step, the spiritual pressure condensing like invisible gravity pressing against his shoulders.
Ahead stood another gate-older, darker. Ancient runes pulsed faintly across its
surface, layered with formation arrays.
When the gate opened, Ery imdiately sensed the difference.
Inside, only twenty stone tablets stood arranged in a wide circular formation.
They were taller, thicker, and emanated a presence that was not rely profound-it was oppressive. Each tablet seed less like a monunt and more like a silent sovereign observing intruders.
Ery felt his breathing slow unconsciously.
Before he could ask, Xernas spoke.
"These are the Emperor Supre tablets."
The words confird what Ery had already suspected.
If the outer hall contained the legacies of Supre Lords, this inner sanctum
preserved so inheritance of the Twenty-Four Supre Emperors.
Ery approached the nearest tablet.
The markings glowed faintly as his divine sense brushed against them.
[Blossoming Sword Emperor]
[Profound Law of Gentle Sword]
[Requirents: Female with deep comprehension in Law of Sword, Advance
level Sword Intent]
[3000 Palace Points - One Week]
Three thousand.
For a single week.
The number struck him harder than the aura.
These were not techniques casually exchanged between factions. These were Emperor-level inheritances-comprehension refined across millennia.
He exhaled slowly, then noticed Xernas pointing toward a tablet slightly apart
from the others.
The na engraved upon it shimred faintly with a darker hue.
[Stellar Beast Emperor]
Below it were several lines of inheritance titles:
[Star-Breaker Beast Form - 6 stages]
Even without entering the chamber, Ery could sense the savage yet
disciplined power radiating from it.
He leaned closer to inspect the bottom line.
[5000 Palace Points - One Week]
Silence followed.
Ery stared at the number.
Five thousand.
Nearly his entire reward from completing the Cosmic Bridge.
"...Is my new master trying to bankrupt before I even begin?" he muttered
under his breath.
Xernas's lips twitched faintly, though no full smile appeared.
"As his direct disciple, you are granted one entry per 5 years without cost," he explained calmly. "Additionally, each ti you complete one stage of the inheritance, you will earn one additional entry."
Relief eased so of the tension in Ery's chest. One guaranteed week every
five years seems insignificant. Even so, he understood that such legacy was not sothing that could be mastered easily. It would likely take decades before he could truly claim even a portion of its depth.
However, his gaze shifted toward the requirents-and his brows slowly
furrowed.
[Requirents: Beast lineage. Three Cosmos Realm. Deep Comprehension of the Law of Beast.]
The first condition was obvious.
The second... not yet fulfilled.
The third ceased him entirely. "Law of Beast?" he murmured.
The Law of Beast was not commonly cultivated among half-blood magus. It was
a primal law, most naturally awakened by hybrids whose physiology was closer
to true beast lineage.
He looked at Xernas.
"Can I even cultivate this?"
