Chapter 261 — Reverse City (13)

A two-ter hulking fra that looked far sturdier than not just ordinary units but even higher-ranking units—the kind that, in human terms, would be a massively built wall of muscle.

A face properly ford in shape, even crafted to be capable of making convincing expressions, and between its features, main sensors shaped like gleaming eyes.

And above all, a sound of movent that radiated an intensity of power that brooked no comparison with other units.

The boss entity leading the Steel Legion did indeed possess an appearance befitting a final boss. Enough that anyone watching would have been unable to hold back their admiration.

But Baek Woohyun had not switched on a broadcast, and he had even sent away Kang Soyul, who had hers on—so there was no one to see it.

Even if a handful of people watching from afar were present, it would have co through to them only as a vague impression.

[Is the event prepared to your satisfaction?]

"······."

The boss entity posed the question in a low voice.

It was clearly content beyond the range any ordinary NPC could conceive of, but Baek Woohyun, hearing the question, was not flustered in the least.

Because he had already surmised it when he felt the gaze attaching to him earlier. That Deus had intervened and appeared here. That was also the reason he had deliberately sent Kang Soyul away.

While Baek Woohyun responded in silence, the boss entity—no, Deus—naturally descended onto the rooftop of the Villain Alliance building.

And so a two-ter chanical giant and a teenage boy faced each other, yet strangely, the one who felt stronger between the two was the latter.

Because there was a difference in presence that could not be overco by a re difference in physique.

[I adjusted the difficulty so that it would be challenging for them, yet manageable enough to feel a sense of accomplishnt]

"···That's a strange thing to say, given how close it was."

At Deus's words, spoken while indicating the individual broadcasters fiercely fighting the Steel Legion, Baek Woohyun narrowed his eyes and asked back.

If he had not stepped in following Jeong Nayeon's request, the Steel Legion would have swept through the city while the individual broadcasters scrambled about in disarray.

Saying it was 'challenging but manageable enough to feel a sense of accomplishnt' was far too generous. How could you call it rely challenging when a montary tardiness had nearly led to defeat?

[It was all staging]

Deus answered flatly, saying that even that had been staging manufactured entirely under his calculation.

He elaborated that he had deliberately made it seem as though a crisis had arrived, having the Hero Association president and the Villain Alliance leader put on a fitting performance, then arranged for the rest to be left in the participants' hands.

He further laid out his calculation that through this, the individual broadcasters, upon feeling a sense of crisis, would engage with a more earnest attitude.

'Certainly.'

Right up until the [Steel Legion Invasion] event began, the individual broadcasters had been moving with the attitude of 'it's just a simple event when all's said and done!'

The point at which those sa people turned desperate was after the defensive line had crumbled with a 'Wait, what's happening···?' and they had very nearly suffered defeat right then and there.

Once the true possibility of defeat was shown to them, they had gritted their teeth. Exactly as Deus, who had created this event and controlled its flow, had wanted.

Having observed the overall flow from a high vantage point, Baek Woohyun knew all too well that Deus's claim was true.

After all, in 'Reverse City'—not even 'Reverse Planet,' rely a derivative server—Deus would be a god-like being in the sa way Isaac was.

If he had truly intended to destroy 'Reverse City,' it would have been possible for him to deploy even more Steel Legion units than now.

"······."

And blocking that would have been difficult even so.

Because.

'Isaac has to minimize his intervention, if only to conceal the importance 'Reverse City' holds.'

The sche Isaac had pulled to reclaim the authority that had lost its owner had created the situation of keeping it hidden by making Deus assess 'Reverse City's' significance as low.

It was a thod sowhat close to gambling—extrely important, yet pretending not to be—and to maintain it, he had no choice but to leave Deus alone regardless of what he did.

It ant that even if the Steel Legion were to smash 'Reverse City' to pieces, all he could do was watch.

[As I called it a small gift, I have no intention of ruining your hobby through this]

"Hmm."

[We can be good partners. All the more so if we exclude the Creator]

Kiiiing—!

The boss entity—Deus, who had been making his pitch for the collaboration proposal offered just monts before, abruptly let out an intense sound of movent. As though issuing an order to soone.

With that, the Steel Legion units that had encircled the rooftop of the Villain Alliance building willingly moved in response to their master's will.

They began fighting to hold off Jeong Nayeon and the other individual broadcasters approaching out of concern that sothing had happened to Baek Woohyun.

Kwaaang!

"Out of my way, you things!"

'ㅇㅇ' has donated 1,000 won!

[I'll hold off on saying the unflattering thing about a girlfriend going to rescue her boyfriend]

-Could've ambushed him if we'd gotten a little closer, damn

-Is that the boss entity?

-It looks insanely strong

-Just from the looks of it, it seems like it could beat Etinel to a pulp

"But wait, is going to rescue Hackphysical really the right call here?"

"Honestly, if this is an opponent that can beat Hackphysical, I think we should run fast or all co together and hit it!"

"I don't know, let's just go!"

The area around Baek Woohyun and the boss entity—Deus was instantly filled with the clamor of battle.

It was not yet enough to interfere with their conversation, but it was clear it soon would be. For Jeong Nayeon was closing in fiercely at the vanguard.

If the Steel Legion were to pour in combat strength more forcefully, they could manage to hold her off sohow—but doing so would leave another front short on manpower.

The one person and one unit who had been gazing at each other tacitly agreed that the conversation ended here. In truth, there was nothing further to discuss.

Baek Woohyun felt no particular need to converse any further, and the boss entity—Deus had already finished every appeal necessary for the collaboration.

When that secretly conducted conversation ended, what naturally followed was, of course, battle.

Kwagagagak!

"Eek!"

"I'm getting caught up in it———!"

-Why are you even going there

-It's obviously the most dangerous-looking spot

-But you have to know what's going on;

-Can't resist the curiosity, for real lol

Baek Woohyun and the boss entity—Deus nodded at each other simultaneously and imdiately clashed. With enough intensity to send those who had pushed through the Steel Legion's restraint to be swept away and sent flying.

The leader of the Villain Alliance and the commander of the Steel Legion attacking each other with full force—this scale of aftershock was a natural result.

To begin with, the reason they collided without holding back was also to push away the people closing in on them.

However, as for whether their fight was carried out with genuine intent—that, it was not.

It was closer to choreographed coordination put on for show. Neither Baek Woohyun's attacks nor the boss entity—Deus's attacks carried any real intent.

Because both were aware that in terms of the event's flow, while they needed to clash once here, it absolutely could not result in a decisive conclusion.

'We can be good partners, huh···.'

Baek Woohyun calmly fixing his gaze on the boss entity—Deus.

From the proposal in 'Reverse Planet' to the pitch in 'Reverse City,' his impression sumd up to roughly: 'Keep watching for now.'

Even if he was in a collaborative relationship with Isaac, no one could know how the situation might change.

Judging from the content of what Deus was saying, he too was likely only hoping for that level of shift in perception.

After all, before the proposals had been exchanged, they had been in a relationship where each side had done their best to ruin the other in every way.

The ssage that as long as they were not sworn mortal enemies, there was room to work with—was plainly apparent.

Kwagagagak!

[······]

"······."

So, while Baek Woohyun battled the boss entity—Deus in silent agreent.

The confrontation between the Steel Legion and 'Reverse City's' factions grew increasingly fierce, and wedging itself into that gap, the story being written by the participants also gained montum.

As with many large-scale collaborative broadcast content, the synergy that erged from participants becoming entangled with one another had exploded. Or you could say that iTube monts had taken shape.

"You! Rutty-Nyang!"

"Oh no, Ar-ong!"

-Whoa

-Of all people, these two lol

-Enemies always et on a narrow bridge, they say

-Fight! Fight! Fight! Fight!

"" ······.""

For example: Rutty-Nyang and Ar-ong, who were usually at each other's throats as rivals, accidentally being assigned to defend the sa zone.

Cat and dog, villain and hero, the 'Hellcat' Crew and Team 'Lovely Puppy'—they were contrasting in concept in every way, and they stared at each other.

The crew mbers and team mbers who had been unexpectedly swept up in it, preparing to fight with the mindset of 'well, whatever the boss does!'—the tension rose further still, but—

"Just this once, we're cooperating! ···Nyang!"

"I don't like it, but there's no choice! ···ong!"

""Ohhhh!""

-The way they talk is absolutely hilarious lol

-A cat and dog joining hands

-This might be··· a rather dangerous combination that just ca into being!

-The birth of the ultimate combo, as if lol

'ㅇㅇ' has donated 1,000 won!

[This is what a real temporary alliance looks like lmaooo]

—There was no battle between Rutty-Nyang's 'Hellcat' Crew and Ar-ong's Team 'Lovely Puppy.'

The two had decided to build a temporary cooperation against the greater enemy, the Steel Legion. A true temporary alliance between hero and villain.

Even after agreeing to cooperate, they kept squabbling, each telling the other not to get in their way. The crew mbers and team mbers were the sa.

The synergy between participants produced by the [Steel Legion Invasion] was not limited to this alone.

'Reverse City' had so many participants that the term ultra-large-scale was warranted, and over the past several days, all manner of things worth talking about had co up between them.

Even relationships that would ordinarily have been buried resurfaced through this event and blossod into iTube monts.

"You! You skipped out on the fare and ran last ti!"

"Oh no! Of all tis!"

-What is this now lol

-Villain move: skip taxi fare and run

-That's a surprisingly petty kind of evil

-The fact that they took a taxi in the first place is hilarious lol

Kwang!

"···Just get in for now! Starting next ti, pay your fare properly!"

"I'll try my best!"

A neutral faction taxi driver ending up giving a ride to the villain who had skipped the fare and run—this ti, to face the Steel Legion's invasion.

"Ugh—I swore I'd only treat villains!"

"Treat ~ treat ~ treat ~ treat ~"

"J-just this once!"

-And they actually treat them

-Lying there singing while down on the ground is so annoying lol, for real

-If it were I'd have abandoned them without a second thought

-Too soft-hearted, tsk tsk

'ㅇㅇ' has donated 1,000 won!

[The madness of lying down right in front of them specifically because they didn't treat you last ti]

A doctor breaking their conviction to revive only villains and ultimately treating a hero, and a hero who then deliberately collapses right in front of them again.

With amusing developnts popping up all at once, the viewers simply enjoyed themselves. Whatever it was, as long as it was entertaining, that was all they needed.

The individual broadcasters were satisfied as well, of course. It was already highly topical content to begin with, and on top of that, iTube monts had aligned nicely—how could they not be?

Kwaaang!

[Steel Legion, assemble!]

When the boss entity—Deus deliberately allowed the Telekinesis and was pushed back far, putting distance between them, Baek Woohyun turned his gaze down to the battlefield below.

It was because he realized his role here had ended, and that the ti had co for 'Reverse City's' participants to bring the event to its conclusion.

It wasn't a crisis situation either—if he went ahead and took down even the boss entity, there would be talk of the organizers hogging everything for themselves.

"······."

And so, watching the participants busily setting up iTube monts, Baek Woohyun fell silent for a mont.
