Mabel Quinn’s nose tingled, her eyes already moist, and when the doctor ca out, everyone hurriedly asked about the situation.
The doctor said, "The situation is not very optimistic. He is still in life-threatening condition, and if things worsen, a second surgery might be necessary."
Mabel’s heart sank abruptly, which ant that her uncle might... That word, she didn’t want to think about it, the possibility was too cruel.
Why do people who are kind to her always leave her? Her father did, and now her uncle... does he have to as well?
Mabel watched as Edward Quinn was wheeled into the ICU. Her heart felt clogged with sothing, so painful. Her uncle, just like her father, used his life to protect her, and no matter what, she didn’t want him to leave her!
Alice Conley looked at her friend’s sad expression, feeling distressed too. It was hard enough for her friend and Kyle to finally get their marriage certificate, as if all their pains were behind them, only for sothing like this to happen unexpectedly.
"Alright, Mabel, you should go back to the ward and rest. You still have the baby in your belly. Even if you stay here, it will be like this. Why not see your uncle tomorrow?" Alice suggested.
Mabel knew Alice was right and nodded.
Once back in the ward, Mabel said to Alice and Dorian Howards, "You two should also go and rest early. It’s very late now. There will be nurses here to take care of ; don’t worry."

Mabel said, "Didn’t you just tell to think about the baby in my belly? Did you forget you also have a baby in yours? Alright, have a good rest. Once you leave, I’ll sleep too."

Dorian pursed his lips and remained silent. Kyle had ntioned before that he didn’t want children. Now that Mabel was pregnant, Kyle might be quite shaken.
The two of them exited the elevator and headed towards the parking lot outside, only to suddenly see a silver-gray sedan drive into the lot. The person who got out was Kyle Kinston.
However, at this mont, Kyle’s face looked extrely grim.
"Kyle!" Dorian called out.
Kyle turned his gaze over and then walked forward, asking, "How is Mabel’s condition?"
"She’s alright. After you left, we accompanied her at the Surgery Room’s entrance, waited until Edward Quinn’s surgery finished, then took her back to the ward to rest." Dorian said, "But Edward’s condition isn’t good, he hasn’t gotten out of life-threatening danger yet."
