She panted and coughed, "Kyle... I will not take this dicine! This child, no matter what, I want to give birth to it..."
He looked at her sternly, then suddenly smiled softly, as if he was looking at a willful child, "I will make you take this dicine, Mabel. Kyle took another glass, poured a cup of warm water again, planning to have her take the dicine once more.
But when he turned around, he was stunned. Mabel was standing amongst the glass shards on the floor, holding a shard in her hand, pointed at her own wrist artery, "Kyle, I won’t take the dicine. If you really force to take it, then..."
She didn’t finish her sentence, but the glass in her hand pressed further into her skin, as if telling him she absolutely wouldn’t spare herself.
His entire body stiffened, his eyes fixated on her, the shattered and sharp glass shard seed ready to cut her skin, her blood seed ready to flow out at any mont.
It was as if... many years ago, another woman clutched a blade, slicing shallow cuts one after another on herself, blood like vibrant flowers soaking and covering her ragged clothes.
And the woman shouted, "Easton Kinston, I will never forgive you, I will never forgive you. I should never have trusted you back then. This is your punishnt... it is also the only punishnt I can give you in this life... no matter what you have, it won’t change the curse of your bloodline..."
The mother passed away with her only punishnt, and now, this woman before him reminded him of his mother.
