But when Mabel had finished her workout and went to shower, the two bodyguards obviously couldn’t follow her into the bathroom, so they had to wait outside.

When Mabel, appearing like a middle-aged woman of around forty, dressed in a conservative suit, with black-frad glasses and shoulder-length hair, walked out of the bathroom, the two bodyguards glanced over her without any suspicion.
Although Mabel appeared calm, her heart was pounding non-stop until she walked out of the gym and slightly exhaled in relief. But quickly, she hurried towards the nearby dock, collecting her boat ticket from a machine.
She needed to be quick! The gym would only be able to cover her for a short ti; soon, within half an hour or so, the bodyguards would get suspicious, and they would find her gone. If they reported this to Kyle, then a search in Falling City was likely to ensue.
