Mabel Quinn shivered, "What are you planning to do to him?"
He didn’t answer, but this only made her more uneasy. Just now, she was carried away, forgetting his status. If he really wanted to deal with Atlas, it wouldn’t be difficult.
She should never have dragged Atlas into this ss. Mabel felt an imnse sense of guilt, "I am already a mother, no longer young, not that attractive. I really don’t understand, Kyle, why do you want to fall in love with you? It can’t be that I have sothing special that made you fall for at first sight."
"What if I said yes?" he replied.
She was dumbfounded. Did he really fall for her at first sight? Or did their past feelings still subconsciously influence him, even if he forgot?
She speculated briefly, but replied, "Then I refuse. I don’t have any intention of falling in love with you, nor do I think it’s possible for to love you." She rejected him as she did last ti, "Atlas and I are just friends. I hope you don’t take your anger at out on him!"
He laughed coldly, "So, you said all this just to protect Atlas Shaw?" Especially the way she kept calling him Atlas, it was truly grating.
Mabel replied earnestly, "If because of , you hurt him, I will never forgive you in this lifeti!" She also wouldn’t forgive herself.
To her, Atlas was not just a friend, but also a benefactor who saved her and Ivy’s lives. Because of Atlas, she got through the initial tough tis and now can provide a ho for herself and her daughter with her own hands.
And Ivy hadn’t felt the lack of a father in a single-parent family; Atlas, to so extent, filled that gap.
She felt nothing but deep gratitude toward Atlas, hoping that one day she could help him in return, and never wanted to bring trouble upon him.
Kyle Kinston’s faint smile disappeared, and his face beca paler.
The pain in his chest seed to multiply a hundredfold, or a thousandfold.
She would never forgive him in her life?
Why, when he heard her say these words, did he feel as though the entire world was about to collapse, as if he was falling into an endless abyss and couldn’t climb back up no matter how hard he tried?
Two lines of clear tears flowed down abruptly, those pitch-black eyes already subrged in a watery radiance.
"You will never forgive in your life?" he mumbled, his mind blank. These words seed to be more of a question born out of instinct.
Mabel was stunned, never expecting Kyle Kinston to shed tears in front of her, and so suddenly at that.
Clearly, he was a lofty CEO, yet at this mont, he seed filled with a kind of fragile vulnerability, as if one more blow and he would shatter like glass.
After a long while, she opened her mouth, "You..."
But the next mont, she was already enveloped in his embrace, "Never say such things again, never ever say such things again. I won’t make a move against Atlas Shaw, so you are not allowed to say you won’t forgive for the rest of your life."
Her words not only frightened him but also made him feel a deep terror.
The thought of her lifelong unforgiveness was sothing he dared not even consider!
