After finding her daughter, Mabel Quinn finally breathed a sigh of relief. The two kidnappers were identified as seasoned child traffickers. This was the first ti they had abducted soone in broad daylight. According to them, an unknown person contacted them, instructing them to kidnap and sell the girl, promising a substantial reward upon success. As for the deposit, it was transferred to their account online, but when the police traced the bank account afterward, it led nowhere. It turned out to be a bank account opened with a stolen identity.
So, the only thing the police could think of was whether Mabel Quinn had secretly made any enemies.
Of course, Mabel Quinn had no answers. After all, over the past few years, besides a few work contacts, she spent most of her ti either at ho or picking up her daughter, interacting with teachers and parents in kindergarten, and hadn’t gotten into any conflicts. Let alone enmity that would warrant kidnapping soone’s child.
When nothing conclusive erged, the police could only remind Mabel Quinn to keep a lookout for her child’s safety. They assured her that they would continue investigating the case.
After leaving the police station, Mabel Quinn assured Aunt Wu not to feel guilty. After all, the perpetrators were prepared. She also emphasized everyone should be more vigilant about the child’s safety in future.
Aunt Wu nodded repeatedly. Having known each other for so many years, they understood each other well and bore no grudges over the incident.
Back at the apartnt complex that night, the little one did not sleep in her own small bed but shared the bed with Mabel Quinn.
Since her daughter started kindergarten, Mabel Quinn had fostered the habit of her sleeping alone. But today was an exception. As she watched the child sleeping in her arms, all she felt was relief.
But the next day, when Mabel Quinn saw the news online, she felt a wave of dizziness.
The news talked about the rescue of a child kidnapped by traffickers and even included a picture. In the picture, a little girl was being held by the recently-arrived-in-G-City Kyle Kinston. Although the girl’s face was pixelated to protect her identity, Mabel Quinn imdiately recognized her own daughter.
Yesterday’s incident was reported, and not just on one news portal. Mabel Quinn was completely dumbfounded. After the little one returned ho yesterday, she ntioned being picked up by a man who wasn’t a policeman. That man had saved her, so she even gave him a kiss as thanks.
Mabel Quinn hadn’t given much thought to it at the ti, planning to inquire about the man at the police station and possibly visit with a gift to express her gratitude.
Little did she expect that Ivy’s "uncle" would turn out to be Kyle Kinston!
Ivy... actually t Kyle Kinston!
However... since Kyle Kinston had not co looking for her, he probably hadn’t realized that Ivy was his child, Mabel Quinn speculated to herself.
Yet, her heart was filled with an indescribable mix of relief and sadness. Clearly, they were father and daughter, the closest blood relationship in the world, yet they t without recognizing each other. What could this be called!
