Mabel Quinn was pondering whether to sneak away soon when suddenly, a familiar voice sounded in her ear, "What are you thinking about?"
Mabel turned abruptly and saw Atlas Shaw standing by her side, smiling at her, "What are you doing here?"
"Dragged here by Sister Han," Mabel said, surprised that Atlas appeared at such a gathering of stars, as he usually had little interest in attending these events. "What about you? You ca too?"
"What if I told you I ca because I heard the directors and producers of your crew would be here today? Would you believe ?" he said.
"Eh?" She was taken aback, "Do you have any business with them?"
"Aren’t you in the casting stage now? I need to familiarize myself with them, right?" he said.
She couldn’t help but laugh, "Do you even need to familiarize yourself? You just need to have your agent say a word, and it’s done." He is currently one of the hottest figures in the film industry!
"That’s different," he said. "This project is different from the others because it’s based on your script. I don’t want to miss any opportunity."
Because of this, he treated it with utmost care.
Mabel was speechless, feeling there was another layer of aning in his words. Her heart had aged beyond her years; her life before 23 felt like living through a lifeti’s worth of love, blooming like a flower and then withering.
She couldn’t respond to him.
Fortunately, Atlas swiftly changed the subject, "How is Ivy lately? How’s her mood?" He had been frantic upon learning that the little one was kidnapped, taking a leave from the crew and rushing to her ho to check on the little one. Although the child seed fine, there were concerns about psychological trauma.
Lately, the crew was busy, with most scenes focusing on him, keeping him tied up with filming. Even when wrapping up, it was always past midnight, making him uncomfortable to disturb her.
"She’s fine," Mabel said with a smile.
"Speaking of which, I saw the news and realized that Ivy indeed resembles Mister Jun quite a bit. Thankfully, Ivy’s face was pixelated in the news photos; otherwise, soone could mistakenly think Ivy is Mister Jun’s daughter," Atlas said.
He said it casually, but while he spoke carelessly, Mabel was deeply affected. Hearing those words, her body stiffened, and cold sweat gathered in her palms.
"What’s wrong? Are you feeling unwell?" Atlas asked, "You look a bit pale."
"Maybe I’m just not very accustod to this kind of environnt yet," she excused herself, "I’d like to rest a bit."
"You should head back first; I’ll walk you out," Atlas said.
"Alright." Mabel nodded naturally. Given Atlas’s celebrity status, they wouldn’t walk side by side but rather one behind the other.
Atlas walked ahead, while Mabel followed behind.
But when Mabel erged, she found Atlas surrounded by a throng of fans, with more people constantly joining, blocking him at the stairs, asking for autographs, while the fans incessantly scread and shouted his na.
