Evelyn spoke up at this ti, "Alice, maybe Mabel is really... Hasn’t she moved out? Her mom didn’t even know her address, and a while back, didn’t her mom co to the dorm to make a scene? Also, I rember before the internship, she once wore an entire outfit of luxury brands to class. At the ti, she said to that it was all knock-off, but thinking back, it might have been real. Not knock-offs at all. You think, Mabel doesn’t have much money, so how could she afford luxury brands?"
Mabel was a bit surprised. She didn’t expect Evelyn to say sothing like this. In college, Mabel interacted the most with Alice and Evelyn.
"I believe Mabel must have her reasons, and it’s definitely not as terrible as you think. And Evelyn, haven’t you known Mabel long enough to know her character? How could you say sothing like that?" Alice voiced out.
Reading Alice’s ssage, Mabel felt sowhat comforted. Perhaps many tis, it’s only when things happen that you can truly see who your real friends are.
Mabel was staring at the WeChat group, pondering what on earth was happening. Those pictures, and who could have sent the anonymous letter, when suddenly, soone snatched her phone away.
Mabel let out a startled gasp, only to see her phone falling into Kyle Kinston’s hands, and he was scrolling through her university WeChat group chat.
Mabel was sweating bullets but didn’t recklessly grab her phone back. After all, the content did have sothing to do with Kyle Kinston.
After reading through the chat, he raised an eyebrow at her, "What, do I seem like an old man?"
Seriously, was that really his takeaway from all this? She was embarrassed.
The next mont, her phone rang again. He handed the phone back to her, and when she answered, it was the school leadership calling. They asked her to co to the school on Monday morning to explain the situation on the bulletin board.
The leader spoke sternly, "Our school has always had a great and healthy school spirit. We absolutely won’t tolerate any incidents with a negative influence. You’ll need to report this matter thoroughly. If it isn’t true, then you need to list all the evidence for everyone to believe it. Otherwise, the school will expel you!"
That punishnt was extrely harsh, especially considering she was only a month away from graduation.
"But Director, isn’t it the one who accuses that should provide the evidence?" Mabel asked.
"What, do you an those photos on the school bulletin board aren’t evidence? Of course, if you don’t co in tomorrow, the school will proceed with expulsion." With that, the other party hung up.
Mabel stared speechlessly at her phone. Provide evidence? How was she supposed to provide evidence? Was she supposed to ask Kyle Kinston to write a letter to inform others that the luxury car that picked her up and dropped her off every day was rely a asure for her safety?
"What’s wrong?" Kyle Kinston asked.
With a bitter face, Mabel replied, "The school leadership knows about this too. The director wants to go to campus to explain tomorrow morning. If the evidence I provide doesn’t convince them, they’ll expel ."
"Then just go to the school and explain," he said lightly.
"And the evidence?" She glanced at him.
"If they want to see the evidence, then show it to them. I’ll prepare everything for you when the ti cos," Kyle Kinston said.
