There were still dried bloodstains at the corners of his lips, clearly from being bitten. His clothes and hands were marked with blood that had turned brown. His face showed deep exhaustion, as if he were utterly spent.
"I’ll go call the doctor!" Without thinking, Mabel Quinn turned to run out of the ward.
Just as she turned, his hands wrapped around her from behind, and he rested his head on her shoulder, murmuring softly, "No need to call any doctor. Let hold you for a while. Just for a while."
Mabel Quinn stopped moving, allowing Kyle Kinston to hold her just like that.
Her mind, however, was filled with questions. What on earth had happened yesterday, and why was he in this state?

The doctor treated Kyle Kinston’s wounds. Fortunately, they were just superficial wounds and were not serious. Of course, Mabel could tell that even the doctor was curious about how Kyle got these injuries, but the doctor didn’t dare to ask.
When they were alone, Mabel asked, "What really happened yesterday... why did I feel so groggy later? And why do you have so many injuries?" The doctor had ntioned that apart from so cuts from broken glass, the others were bruises and scratches from impact.
"The injuries on my body are nothing serious; it was just that my body felt a little unwell yesterday, so I accidentally hurt myself," Kyle said lightly. Yesterday was the night of the Full Moon. Even though she was close by, because he didn’t want to harm her, he suspected he had locked himself in the bathroom.
Mabel suddenly thought of a possibility. "Did your hidden ailnt flare up?" She rembered seeing him before, painfully curled up on the floor, scratching himself incessantly. Could it be that last night, it happened again?
"Mm." He responded softly, giving her an answer.
"Then why didn’t you call a doctor?" She asked, knowing that they were already at the hospital.
"I know my body well enough. This is sothing that will be with for life. If it were that easy to cure, it wouldn’t..." His voice trailed off, and he didn’t continue.
"Wouldn’t what?" she pursued.
"Nothing. Alright, enough about . Do you have any impression of what happened yesterday?" he asked.
"I just rember being dragged into a cubicle by a man I didn’t know, and then..." Her face turned pale, "Was there anything that happened afterwards?"
"No, I knocked the man out," he said, a trace of darkness flashing in his eyes. That man, he definitely wouldn’t let him off easily.
She breathed a sigh of relief and listened as Kyle recounted the situation at the ti, and how he later brought her to the hospital and gave her a sedative.
"What on earth happened, could it be that I encountered so sort of mystery or conspiracy?" Mabel speculated.
"I’ll find out what happened, don’t worry," Kyle assured her.
After talking with Kyle, Mabel returned to her room and only then realized that her phone had run out of battery. As soon as she charged it, she found nurous missed calls, from the Corporation and also several from Alice Conley—over ten calls, in fact, which startled Mabel. She quickly returned her friend’s call.
