The market stall owner trembled slightly and cautiously asked, "Comrade, did this young lady do sothing wrong? Is there so kind of grudge between you and her?" Otherwise, why would there be so many vehicles?
The person did not answer the market stall owner's question.
The owner couldn't help but turn to Mabel Quinn and said, "Young lady, if you really have sothing going on, it's none of my business, you know. I was just trying to help you draw a route to the bus stop, not help you escape. You better explain it to them!"
Mabel Quinn was at a loss whether to cry or laugh upon hearing this, but at the mont, she had no idea why these people were looking for her.
"Excuse , what is it you need from ?" Mabel asked the person closest to her.
"Miss Quinn will know soon enough." The person replied.
And monts later, Mabel saw another car drive up, and a tall figure stepped out from the vehicle.
Kyle Kinston?! He actually appeared right in front of her.
The person who had been speaking to her quickly approached Kyle Kinston and briefed him on the situation. Kyle walked up to Mabel, giving a cold glance at the half-eaten pancake in her hand. "It's late at night, and you're still quite relaxed, huh."
She sheepishly hid the pancake behind her back, "What are you doing here, and these people... they wouldn't happen to be sent by you to find , would they?"
He pressed his lips together. Should he tell her? How she abruptly hung up on his call, and when he tried calling her back, he couldn't reach her no matter what. Out of anxiety, he imdiately had soone track her down and left a eting midway for her. Frankly, this was the first ti he got anxious over a woman. His dark phoenix eyes fixated on her face—was it because she was his destiny? Because she held his life in her hands, so he worried about her safety?
Or... perhaps...
Under Kyle Kinston's unpredictable gaze, Mabel Quinn felt a wave of panic. Was he planning to stand there locking eyes with her indefinitely?
But the next mont, he suddenly reached out, clasped her jaw, scrutinized her face, and then his gaze traveled down her neck, landing on her chest area.
"What's with your clothes?" he asked.
"When I was making deliveries today, I accidentally spilled a drink," she said. "Uh... could you let go of my chin?" It was quite embarrassing to have soone hold her chin in public like this.
He gave her a cold glance, "Don't like touching you?"
A sense of danger arose spontaneously, and she wisely shut her mouth. He released her jaw but pulled her directly into a car, telling the driver, "Back to the residence."
"Wait, I still need to go back to school. Can you drop off at the bus stop ahead?" Mabel quickly said.
"Back to the residence," Kyle said blandly, clearly not accommodating Mabel's wishes.
The driver naturally followed Kyle Kinston's orders, leaving Mabel stunned. How was she supposed to get back to school now?
But Kyle Kinston had already assud a posture of closing his eyes to rest, showing no intention of paying her any mind.
Deflated, Mabel sat to the side and started munching on the remaining half of her pancake.
