The bystanders realized there was more to the story, and upon reflecting, thought she had a point. Why cry about this? The person involved wasn’t making a scene, so what’s there for the troublemaker to cry about?
Mabel Quinn noticed the change in the bystanders’ gaze.
Her face flushed red, unsure of how to counter Mabel Quinn’s words.
Mabel Quinn continued, "Besides, if you truly intended to apologize, why would you constantly threaten to kneel? If you were sincere, you would have knelt already, not just been all talk."
Alessia Quinn’s face turned even redder. There was no way she would actually kneel to soone like Mabel Quinn, whom she looked down upon!
The surrounding colleagues picked up on this. Apparently, the apologies weren’t sincere; it was just a ploy to force compliance.
"Could it be that you don’t want to pay for the dress?" Lilith chid in. "You stepped on soone’s dress and promised compensation. Now, are you hoping a simple apology will settle everything?"
"Wow, just for a dress, trying to weasel out of it?" another colleague intervened.
Anger surged within Alessia Quinn. That dress was worth 3 million US Dollars; it wasn’t sothing she could casually compensate for. If she had known that beforehand, she would never have promised to compensate, or even stepped on Mabel Quinn’s dress.
But now it was too late for such words.
Having always seen herself as the Quinn Family’s eldest daughter, this was too much for her to bear. She imdiately abandoned her pitiful act, "Mabel Quinn, you being so aggressive ans you’re going against the entire Quinn Family!"
Mabel Quinn retorted coldly, "Just who is the one being aggressive here, you or ?"
At this mont, a group of people erged from the VIP elevators on the first floor, including several high-level executives from the Corporation, as well as—Daniel Harris.
Daniel Harris halted when he saw the confrontation between Mabel Quinn and Alessia Quinn.
The executives noticed as well and were about to have security intervene, but Daniel Harris raised a hand to stop them and walked over himself. Naturally, the executives quickly followed him.
The employees who had been watching the drama fell silent upon seeing Daniel Harris and the executives approaching. Many might not recognize Daniel Harris, but they knew the executives, so whoever could command their respect must be of significant status.
Lilith, upon seeing Daniel Harris, hurriedly tugged Mabel Quinn’s arm to signal her.
Mabel Quinn was taken aback but then quickly comprehended, realizing Daniel Harris’s presence there was natural since Morningstar was under the Harris Family.
"Trouble?" Daniel Harris asked Mabel Quinn.
"I can handle it myself," Mabel Quinn replied.
"If there’s any trouble, you can also tell ," Daniel Harris said.
Alessia Quinn glanced between Daniel Harris and Mabel Quinn, stomped her foot in frustration, and turned to leave. Staying any longer would only invite more humiliation.
Lilith and so other employees widened their eyes in surprise at seeing Daniel Harris initiate a conversation with Mabel Quinn.
"Mr. Harris, thank you for your kindness," Mabel Quinn said, slightly bowing before turning to leave.
