So now she’s... completely blind?! Daniel Harris paused, no one understands the feeling of blindness more than he does. The entire world is engulfed in darkness, devoid of any light, as if everything around becos void, and sotis, he can’t even be sure of his own existence.
At that ti, he didn’t know what he was living for, just a blind person, rely a useless blind man.
But it wasn’t until he t "Grace" that he learned to smile and finally began to cherish his own life...
And now Mabel Quinn, sitting so quietly, reminded him of that little girl with the blank face from his mories.
He watched as she fumbled inside the bag she was holding, and after a while, she took out a phone, and said to the person sitting beside her, "Lilith, can you help find Kyle Kinston’s number in the contacts? I want to call him."
"Sure." Lilith took the phone, and shortly thereafter, found Kyle Kinston’s number in the contacts and pressed the call button, before handing the phone back to Mabel Quinn.
Mabel Quinn put the phone to her ear, feeling both anxious and uneasy. At the mont, all she saw was darkness, not knowing when her sight would return. According to the doctor, her vision should co back in one or two hours. But today is Kyle’s birthday, and they were supposed to et at the Ginkgo Plaza.
The phone rang only twice before it was quickly picked up.
"Mabel? Where are you now?" Kyle Kinston’s voice ca through the phone.
"I... There’s a little issue at the Corporation today, I have to work late. I’ll be coming over later, maybe you can find sowhere nearby to eat first. I’ll co find you as soon as I’m done." she said. Today is his birthday, and originally it brings all those awful mories for him. She didn’t want to add to that awfulness, didn’t want him to worry about her today as well.
She hoped today would be a happy day for him.
"Then I’ll co pick you up." Kyle Kinston said.
Mabel Quinn quickly said, "No need, I’m very busy here. You coming over would only distract . Let’s leave it at that. Once I finish, I’ll co over imdiately!"
"Alright." His voice replied through the phone.
Only then did she let out a breath of relief as the call ended. She fumbled to put the phone back into her bag.
Lilith beside her said, "Mabel, why didn’t you tell Kyle that you’re at the Hospital?"
"I’m not seriously injured, and even the doctor said my vision will recover soon." Mabel Quinn said.
"But..."
"Even if I tell him, it will only add to his worry. Lilith, why don’t you and Supervisor Fang head back first? I don’t mind staying here by myself, plus if anything happens, I can always call the nurse." Mabel Quinn said.
"You all go back, I’ll stay here." A voice rang out suddenly.
"Director Harris?!" Lilith saw who it was and was startled. Imdiately after, there was the sound of sothing falling. It turned out that the bag Mabel Quinn was holding dropped, and its contents scattered all over the ground.
