"It was Lyra Grant who said the book was hers; I really didn’t know she might have plagiarized Mabel Quinn’s manuscript!" The horoom teacher urgently distanced herself from the situation.
And those few high school classmates quickly expressed that they were all deceived by Lyra Grant. Soone even said, "Back then, I thought it was strange, as we never heard Lyra discussing any novels, yet suddenly there was a novel published!"
The editor who worked with Lyra at the ti recalled that she brought him a handwritten manuscript. He read it and found it quite impressive, so he decided to publish it. But before publication, Lyra said she wanted to make so slight modifications, so she deleted so plots and changed the nas of several protagonists in the novel.
"Where is the manuscript?" Daniel Harris asked.
"After we entered the novel into our computer, we returned the manuscript to Miss Grant," the editor said.
Daniel Harris’s gaze once again fell on Lyra Grant. "The manuscript?"
Lyra Grant trembled slightly, "I... I..." She still wanted to insist that the book was her own, but under Daniel’s cold stare, she couldn’t say a word.
"The manuscript... I... I have it here." One of the forr servants of the Grant Family spoke up, "That manuscript, Miss asked to throw it away originally. I... I thought it was a bit of a waste to throw it away, so I took it back for my daughter to read as a novel. My daughter liked the novel a lot, so we kept the notebook at our ho. Miss doesn’t know about this."
Lyra Grant’s eyes widened in disbelief as she looked at the servant. A mont later, she deflated like a punctured balloon, suddenly looking much older.
Daniel Harris sent soone to follow the servant to retrieve the manuscript. When the handwritten manuscript reached Daniel’s hands, everyone else had already left the Harris garden except for Lyra Grant.
Daniel Harris flipped through the plain notebook, page by page. The initial page with the na had been torn out, presumably by Lyra Grant at that ti.
Each of the inner pages was filled with writing, the elegant handwriting reminding him of that person. He turned the pages one after another, and when he reached a page ntioning the character "Liam Xenos," his fingers traced over those words, becoming srized.
Liam, Liam, isn’t that just the combination of "stand" and "early"... Why did he only realize this now?!
That person had long given this character his na, and also their past story. This character was written for him!
A sensation spread in his heart, and that sensation is called: pain.
When his hand turned to the last page of the manuscript, he read the two lines written at the bottom: If soone were to ask now what my greatest wish is, then I hope that one day, there will be soone who can truly see this colorful world with his eyes. If he needs my eyes, I’m willing to give him one of mine.
But these words were crossed out with a pen of a different color. Despite this, he could still make out those words.
Only after seeing those words clearly, the pain in his chest grew even more intense.
The pain was so overwhelming that he needed to keep pounding his chest with his hands to alleviate the pain in his heart.
