Mabel Quinn was stunned for a mont before she realized that the Daniel Harris before her was deeply haggard, his usual elegance and nobility had been replaced by a sense of profound desolation. His beautiful dark eyes were filled with a look of pain.

How many mistakes had he made? Every ti he thought about everything between them, it felt unbearably painful.
Mabel pressed her lips, looking at the Daniel before her, suddenly finding it all absurdly laughable. That manuscript—who would have thought it survived all these years and ended up in Daniel’s hands?
Back then, the feelings she had when she wrote those words at the end of the manuscript, she actually still rembered them now. She thought if there was a day she reunited with her cherished brother Isaac Zimrman, it would be one filled with joy and emotion.
