She and Kyle...is it really impossible for them to have children? Mabel Quinn thought in a daze. If it’s because of Kyle’s illness, then is there another way to have a child? Or perhaps one day, if Kyle’s condition gets cured, they could have a child too?
"What’s wrong? What are you thinking about?" His voice interrupted her daze.
"Nothing." She snapped back to reality, telling herself once again not to think about children anymore. Even if she never has children for the rest of her life, it doesn’t matter. She and Kyle could always adopt an orphan and be just as happy.
The three of them entered a Chinese fast-food restaurant. They ordered a kids’ al for the little boy, which ca with a small toy, and Mabel and Kyle each got a combo al.
Since it was the weekend, the restaurant was quite crowded, and there were many parents dining with their children. Although the little boy could hold a small spoon and feed himself, he was still prone to making a ss, so Mabel couldn’t help but assist, wiping his mouth and hands, and half-feeding him.
Kyle watched the interactions between Mabel and the little boy from the side, a complex look flashing through his eyes. "You seem to be good at taking care of children," he said.
"Well, we used to have neighbors who had kids. Sotis when the adults were out and I happened to be ho, I would help watch them, so I guess I’ve got so experience," she said with a smile.
After Brandon Walker finished his lunch, he shyly asked Mabel if he could play in the children’s area of the restaurant.
The restaurant had set aside a small area for kids to play, where they could play inside while the adults watched from outside. Mabel noticed there were several children playing there, the youngest one even smaller than Brandon. So she said to Kyle, "I’ll accompany Brandon to play for a while."
Kyle watched Mabel leading the little boy over, his eyelashes trembling slightly, his eyelids half-lowered as he murmured to himself in a voice only he could hear, "Mabel, I can give you everything, except for a child. If you understand everything, would you bla ?"
His words were answered by the joyful laughter not far away.

Mabel and Kyle took little Brandon to the police station. Since they had already contacted the station on the phone before, as soon as they explained their purpose upon arriving, the police imdiately knew what was going on.
Still, following protocol, they needed to take statents. It was fine when taking the statents of the little boy and Mabel, but when it ca ti to record the na of the person reporting, Kyle said his na, and the officer was imdiately stunned.
"What’s your na?" the officer taking the statent asked again.
"Kyle Kinston." Kyle replied flatly.
Then Mabel saw the officer’s eyes suddenly widen. After staring at Kyle in silence for ten seconds, the officer abruptly stood up and stamred, "Kyle...Kyle Kinston...Elder Kinston?! Please, wait a mont. I’ll bring the Director right away."
The officer then rushed into one of the offices, and before long, the Director ca hurrying out.
He really was hurrying out, even a bit out of breath.
