Looking at Alice Conley’s utterly confused expression, Dorian Howards once again had the urge to strangle her, this guy... clearly, she really thought that way!
"I said, you write!" Dorian said bluntly.
Alice Conley had no objections and was happy to oblige.
So Dorian continued, "I, Alice Conley, promise that from now on, I will not randomly hire any n online to go on blind dates, act as boyfriends, or pretend to be fiancés. I will not casually date any n or engage in any intimate behavior with n beyond a handshake. Even in a business context, handshakes shall not exceed five seconds..."
The more Alice wrote, the more sothing felt off. Damn it, this promise... what happened to her personal freedom? "Dorian Howards, there’s no such thing as a promise letter like this!"
"Why not?" Dorian raised his eyebrow, walked to the desk, bent down, leaned forward, and pressed his hands on the desk, "Alice, when we were dating, didn’t you also say that you would always love ? That you’d see as your one and only, and even said I was practically your dream husband. So why, how co you so quickly tossed aside your only one and dream? Looking for another man to fill in the gap?"
Alice Conley’s face twitched violently, so they say, disaster cos from the mouth. In her youth, she never left herself any room when speaking. Fine, now he’s using her past words to slap her in the face.
"We’re already broken up." She could only powerlessly use this fact as a shield.
His eyes dimd, and with a self-deprecating smile, he said, "Yeah, broken up..."
As long as he understood that fact! Just as she was about to heave a sigh of relief, he suddenly grabbed her chin, kissing her forcefully.
Alice Conley was startled and desperately tried to struggle and resist, but she couldn’t break free from his kiss at all.
After a long while, he ended the kiss, lifted his head, and stared intently at her. In those eyes, there was a kind of pain and lancholy she had never seen before, "Alright, without your consent, I won’t do it again. But Alice, do you know? Agreeing to break up with you was the thing I regret the most. Back then, I should have never let go, no matter what you said, never agreed to break up, even if it ant shalessly clinging to you."
Three years have passed. Why did it take him three years to realize this truth? But now, as he tries to pursue her again, she has already built a thick wall, keeping him from approaching.
No matter how close they are now, it feels like mountains stand between them. Even if he is desperately trying to get closer, she is still constantly evading him, leaving him helpless. He never knew that loving soone could be so painful, so unattainable. Yet he doesn’t know why that is.
Clearly, she seems to still have feelings for him too, but why does she still avoid him? Why is that!
Alice Conley was dazed, her fingers unconsciously reaching to touch his eyes. She never wanted to see him sad; it felt like a punishnt for her, painfully so.
His eyes suddenly brightened, looking at her with a kind of surprise.
She seed to snap back to reality, wanting to withdraw her hand, but his hand suddenly grasped her wrist, "Alice, you still love , don’t you?"
