Originally, the likelihood was worrying enough for her, but she never expected that her son would outright refuse the surgery, which truly surprised her.
"Whether I can see or not doesn’t hold much aning for now," Daniel Harris said calmly. Perhaps for him, not seeing was the best outco.
"How can you say such a thing? You are the heir of the Harris Family. In the future, the entire family will be yours to inherit. How can you forsake your responsibility?" his mother said.
Daniel managed a bitter smile, "Mom, can you let make my own choice once? I just want things to stay as they are. I don’t want any surgery. Perhaps this darkness is what’s most suitable for ."
Otherwise, even if he could see everything clearly but fail to recognize the most important person, what would be the point!
His mother sighed. How could she possibly let her son make such a choice or allow his future to remain in darkness?
"Think it over carefully again. Mom really hopes you can undergo the surgery," she said.
Suddenly, Daniel asked, "Was this explosion caused by Josh?" Although no one had inford him of the case’s progress, he had repeatedly thought over the cause and effect in his mind these past days, naturally understanding so of it.
He had known Grace Yowell for ten years; she wasn’t the type to give up easily, so there must be soone else behind this. That day, Josh Harris inford him that Mabel and Grace were together, and he rushed over without much thought. Thinking back now, how could it be such a coincidence for Josh Harris to see it? Moreover, given Josh’s usual character, even if he had seen it, he wouldn’t have called him.
Thus, thinking this way, he could deduce that the one who planted the bomb was likely Josh Harris.
His mother paused for a long while before saying, "He hasn’t confessed yet, but the police have already nad him the pri suspect."
"So, in the end... it wasn’t actually who saved Mabel, but I who implicated her. Otherwise, she wouldn’t have had to experience that explosion," Daniel’s voice was sowhat bitter.
His mother said, "Daniel, this isn’t your fault; it’s that little beast. The Harris Family raised him for so many years, yet he doesn’t know gratitude and used such malicious ans!"
At this mont, his mother hated Josh Harris and his mother to the extre. Over the years, she thought she could coexist peacefully with that woman and her illegitimate child, but while she hesitated, they were eager to eliminate her son.
If only she had been more ruthless back then!
"Mom, please arrange for my discharge from the Hospital tomorrow. I want to recuperate at Harrington Estate," Daniel said.
"How can you do that? If you return to Harrington Estate like this..." the surgery will be indefinitely postponed.
"I’ve already decided," he said, his tone leaving no room for negotiation.

Mabel Quinn, due to a call from the police, once more went to the station to give her statent. Her testimony was much the sa as the first ti, with perhaps just a more detailed account of Grace Yowell’s subtle actions when they were face to face.
When the statent was finished, Mabel asked, "Where is Grace Yowell now?"
"Because of her injuries, she is still in the Hospital. We have assigned personnel to watch her 24 hours a day, and she is prohibited from contact with outsiders," the officer said. "However, since her face was injured, she will have lifelong scars, and her emotions are quite unstable at the mont."
