Dorian Howards in her house, that guy had already beco quite familiar. Alice Conley had to admit, this guy had a handso face, and a way with words, making her parents so happy. Her mom’s look at Dorian was as if she couldn’t wait to marry her daughter off by tomorrow.
Dad was better, but Alice felt they couldn’t rely too much on him; it was only a matter of ti before he completely fell as well. Especially when Alice keenly spotted that Dorian had even brought a few bottles of Maotai to win over her dad.
It was simply... buying their hearts.
"Dorian, you should co over more often when you have ti. When you’re not here, our Alice often talks about you," Mrs. Conley said.
Alice almost slipped out of her chair. Goodness, since when did her mom learn to lie with her eyes wide open? How could she often bring up Dorian? Okay, even if she occasionally did, it was to complain about him, hoping to lower his status in her parents’ eyes.
"Really? Alice, do you often ntion ?" Dorian looked at Alice with a smile.
Alice’s face twitched. She pretended not to hear, and just yelled to her empress dowager, "Mom, he already cos over too often. He’s a busy man, doesn’t have that much ti."
"No, Dorian says he’s quite free with his work." Mrs. Conley replied.
"Yes, I really enjoy coming here often, spending ti with both of you," said Dorian, like a perfect filial son.
Alice grumbled internally. Damn, with a $100,000 hourly salary, if her parents knew, they’d probably spit blood.
Up to now, Alice hadn’t told her parents that Dorian was the eldest son of the Howards Family and the CEO of Howards Group. Firstly, she didn’t want her parents to overthink, and secondly, to be frank, there wasn’t really a future between her and Dorian, so it was better not to ntion it much.
"Tell , Dorian, have you and Alice thought about the future? Like when you’re planning to talk about marriage?" Mrs. Conley asked, as a mother, her biggest concern was of course her daughter’s marriage.
Mr. Conley interjected, "Our daughter is still young, there’s no rush, is there?"
Alice wholeheartedly supported her dad’s words. Clearly, this working-class dad hadn’t been completely corrupted by the bourgeoisie.
"What do you an no rush? After this year, our daughter will be 24. In a few more years, she’ll beco a leftover woman. If she can’t get married by then, we’ll see how worried you’ll be!" Mrs. Conley retorted, not in the least bit pleased.
Mr. Conley rubbed his nose and simply continued drinking.
Dorian said, "No matter how old Alice is, I’m willing to marry her." Plus, that emotional gaze instantly made him get even more points in Mr. and Mrs. Conley’s hearts.
"Look at that, Dorian will definitely be a good husband in the future. If I were twenty years younger, I would want to marry Dorian myself," Mrs. Conley said, adding another piece of at to Dorian’s plate.
Alice was at a loss for words and could only say, "Mom, I’ve just started working, how can I get married so early? You’re thinking too much." And then she hurriedly shoveled rice into her mouth.
After finishing her al, Alice directly called Dorian into her room, "Can you stop coming to my house in the future? If this continues, my parents will really think we’re getting married. How are we going to wrap this up? I don’t want them to be seriously shocked."
