"Kyle, what’s going on? Why bring for a checkup in the middle of the night?" Mabel couldn’t hold back her question any longer, as she knew all his strangeness was because of her.
His lips quivered, but he said nothing, only pulling her tightly into his arms.
"You’ll be fine, and I won’t let anything happen to you!" he murmured.
Her cheek was pressed against his chest, so clearly feeling his body, which was trembling so much, and... his heartbeat was so fast.
After an unknown amount of ti, the conference room door suddenly opened, and a doctor walked in. Imdiately, Kyle and Daniel rushed to the doctor, urgently asking, "How are the test results?"
"Miss Qin’s body is perfectly normal, with no abnormalities found. Moreover, quite so ti has passed since the incident. All the anxiety, worry, unease, and tension transford instantly into relief. He even felt unsteady, as if only by holding her could he feel secure.
Mabel only felt as if his entire weight was pressing on her, so heavy, but it made her realize how much this man cared about her.
"Yes, I’m fine, nothing will happen to ." She hugged him back tightly, saying so.
On the side, Daniel observed the scene quietly, then slipped out of the conference room and returned to his car.
As he got into the car, he finally let out a long sigh, looking down at his hands. While waiting for the test results, his hands had been trembling too, but no one noticed.
As long as she’s okay, that’s all that matters... as long as she’s okay...

Because of the late-night checkup, although Kyle suggested Mabel take a day off to rest at ho, she insisted on going to work. She had already taken quite a few days off due to various things, and even though her manager didn’t mind, Mabel didn’t want to be treated too specially.
However, at work, she kept yawning.
"What’s up? Were you two being too lovey-dovey last night and didn’t get enough sleep?" Alice couldn’t help but poke her head in the break room.
"I wish," Mabel replied, making herself a cup of coffee to perk up. "Last night was spent doing a full-body checkup."
