Mabel Quinn was about to turn around, but then she noticed soone standing at the side of the bathroom door, focused intently on looking at a mobile phone.
That’s... her phone! Mabel instantly recognized her phone, realizing that when she was entangled with soone earlier and her belongings scattered everywhere, soone must have picked it up.
"Excuse , could you return my phone?" Mabel spoke up.
And when the person looked up, Mabel imdiately recognized her as Francine Howards.
"Your phone’s wallpaper is nice," Francine said with a smile, handing the phone back to Mabel. At that mont, the screen displayed a wedding photo of Mabel and Kyle Kinston.
She was sitting on the sofa, while Kyle knelt on one knee, crouching in front of her to fasten the buckle on her shoes, and their eyes were locked, sharing a smile.
"I really like this photo too," Mabel said, taking back her phone, and was about to leave the bathroom when Francine’s voice called from behind her, "The Ruby ring you’re wearing in that photo, did Kyle give it to you?"
"Yes, it’s our wedding ring," Mabel replied, and as she walked out of the bathroom, Francine’s expression suddenly fell, with no trace of a smile left on her face.
She had seen the ring before. Once, when she and Brother Heng visited Kyle at the Kinston residence, she had seen Uncle Kinston looking at this ring while Kyle stood beside him.
That day, Uncle Kinston seed to be in a rare good mood. When she saw the ring, she liked it a lot, not knowing at the ti how valuable a Ruby like that could be; she just thought it was beautiful and asked for it.
But Uncle Kinston said, "This ring will be left for Kyle in the future, and Kyle will give it to soone who will accompany him for a lifeti."
"I will accompany Kyle for a lifeti!" she said back then.
But Uncle Kinston just smiled softly, patted her head, and said, "You won’t be the one; the person Kyle needs for that won’t be you."
At that ti, hearing these words, she was displeased and asked Uncle Kinston why, but he never gave her an answer.
And now, this Ruby ring was on another woman’s hand, as if what Uncle Kinston said back then was a prophecy, predicting she wouldn’t obtain this ring or Kyle.
But she wasn’t going to accept it so easily!

Mabel looked at Daniel Harris standing in front of her, sowhat surprised, but thinking it over, the governnt had invited many business people to this evening’s event, and the Harris Family was the leading family enterprise in J City, making their invitation quite justified.
Mabel nodded slightly at Daniel as a gesture of acknowledgnt and intended to bypass him, but Daniel reached out to block her path, "Don’t worry, I’m not here to say anything troubleso. I just ca to give you sothing."
As Daniel spoke, he pulled sothing out from his pocket and held it up in front of Mabel.
Mabel’s pupils suddenly tightened; what Daniel handed her was a badge, the very badge that should have been completely destroyed in the explosion.
But how could it be... Mabel’s eyes widened, looking at the badge in disbelief, almost with trembling fingers, she took it over.
