A bitterness spreads in her mouth, "I cry not because of Daniel Harris, but because..."
"Does the reason still matter?" he interrupted her.
She was startled, her mist-filled eyes staring blankly at the man in front of her. A chill swept through her heart, and suddenly, she had a realization: he no longer believed her words. No matter what she said, he wouldn’t believe it.
When he broke up with her in front of Daniel Harris, he had actually already drawn a clear line between them. She just didn’t want to believe this fact and ca here, thinking that once she explained everything, all would be fine.
But in reality, it was no more than an act of self-humiliation.
"Can you really say break up and it’s over with our relationship?" she couldn’t help but ask. If breaking up were this simple, if it were this simple that you are you, and I am I, could it still be called love?
He lifted his hand, gently brushed aside so strands of hair from her cheek, tucking them behind her ear, "I can love you, and I can not love you." As he spoke, he bent down, his lips kissing hers.
The cold kiss seed to carry no warmth, and though her nose was full of his scent, it lacked the warmth of the past. Instead, it was like a sharp blade, stabbing her, causing her intense pain!
"Just like how I’m kissing you now, I no longer have any feelings. If I’d known it would co to this, I would rather have never loved you at all." He spoke so, his voice just as cold as his kiss, making the blood in her body feel as if it was quickly chilling, solidifying...
Her nose felt stinging, tears seed on the verge of streaming out of her eyes, but this ti, she didn’t want to cry in front of him, didn’t want her tears to beco aningless.
"I understand," she mumbled, her voice choked with emotion. She had been too naive, thinking his love for her was deep, but in reality, this love could end just like that.
All the explanations and the words left unsaid had beco aningless now; even if she spoke, they would be powerless and pale.
Mabel Quinn quietly exited the storage room, leaving Kyle Kinston alone in the room.
Only at this mont did Kyle Kinston lift his hands, palms up, slowly opening them. In his palms, it was a bloody ss, caused by his nails continuously digging into his skin.
"Father, I will not beco you." He muttered to himself, as if making so kind of vow.

After coming out of the storage room, Mabel Quinn went to the bedroom she had stayed in when she first ca here, taking out the suitcase she brought with her, along with those old clothes.
Mabel looked at her old clothes. They were so cheap clothes; even the winter clothes were only two or three hundred each. The ones she was wearing now were prepared for her by Kyle Kinston in the Kinston mansion, each piece of significant value.
With a bitter smile, she took off the clothes she was wearing, changed into her original cheap clothes, and put the belongings she originally brought in the suitcase, leaving behind whatever she hadn’t bought herself.
