At the sa ti, Kyle Kinston, sitting in the black sedan, quietly looked at the mobile phone in his hand. It was Mabel Quinn’s phone, and he knew her phone’s password himself. When he entered the old password, he could access it smoothly.
He opened the contacts list, and his sight fell on the "Kinston" under the family section. His heart started to beat faster, one after another, so intensely.
When he knew she was kidnapped, he almost instinctively rushed to the police station. When he saw her face, obviously swollen from being hit, he was the only one who understood at that mont how he had a murderous impulse.
And now, this feeling in his heart—was it telling him how much he cared about her?
Stop beating so intensely, stop beating!
He pressed his hand against his chest, constantly telling himself this in his heart.
Hadn’t he already told himself? Don’t care about her anymore; even if she is his lifeline, don’t care anymore.
Mabel Quinn arrived at the police station, and after recording her statent, she saw Caleb waiting outside the statent room.
Caleb handed the phone back to Mabel, saying, "Elder Kinston asked to return this to you."
Mabel looked at the phone, feeling a mix of emotions, "Thank you." She took the phone and then said to Caleb, "Could you please tell him that... I’ll buy a new phone next month and return this one to him then."
That day, when she left the Kinston Mansion, she took everything he bought for her except for this phone.
"I dare not pass that ssage; perhaps Miss Quinn should tell Elder Kinston herself," Caleb said.
Mabel bit her lip slightly, saying nothing.
Caleb sighed and said, "Actually, these days, although Elder Kinston doesn’t seem different, he’s even more silent and cold than before. Miss Quinn, Elder Kinston probably still cares about you. Otherwise, he wouldn’t have rushed to the police station as soon as he heard sothing happened to you."
"Maybe it’s just because... he’s reminiscing about old feelings, that’s all. It doesn’t an anything," she said, only afraid that thinking too much would make it harder to let go. "I’ll head back now, thank you for today."
"Hey, let take you back. Elder Kinston did instruct to send you back to your residence," Caleb said.
Mabel said, "No need, I can take the bus back myself."
"Miss Quinn, you’re not hoping I can’t fulfill my task, are you? You also know that if I don’t complete what Elder Kinston instructed well, there’ll be consequences," Caleb playfully expressed pity.
Mabel could only let Caleb drive her to her residence.
At the entrance of the urban village, Mabel got out of the car and thanked him again.
Caleb was sowhat surprised, "Miss Quinn, you live here?"
"Yes, it’s cheaper here, close to the Corporation, and it’s what I can currently afford," she said.
After Mabel walked inside, Caleb looked at this mixed urban village with a bit of sentint before turning the car around.
The car drove back to the Kinston Mansion, where Caleb t Kyle Kinston in the study. He explained the situation of the statent at the police station and also inford him that Mabel currently lived in the urban village.
"The security there isn’t very good, and the living conditions are quite simple too," Caleb said.
