She could guess a bit, presumably it was Caleb who had given the heads-up.
And the person behind Caleb’s actions should be Kyle. At that mont, she felt an indescribable complexity in her heart. On one hand, he was so indifferent to her, as if all those past feelings had vanished without a trace. Yet on the other hand, he would help her solve those troubles.
Or maybe, it was just a bit of sympathy from him, she told herself inwardly.
She should give up, the mont he said Kay never loved her, she should have given up.
At this mont, Evelina was extrely surprised to see Mabel Quinn wearing mourning clothes and standing in the mourning hall. How could it be? How could this wretched girl have the right to stand there in those clothes?!
Currently, Evelina was almost driven insane by debt collectors, and what made her even more helpless was that the bank had also detected an issue with the Money, and was auditing the accounts these days.
She knew that in just a few days, they might trace it back to her. If she couldn’t cover the bank’s accounts now, she’d really have to run away.
But her son was still in prison and would be released in a few days. She thought of at least waiting for her son to co out, to run away together, after all, she couldn’t bear to part with him.
And now, the Quinn Family had beco her only hope.

As Evelina walked out of the mourning hall, she happened to et Alessia Quinn. Evelina imdiately put on a flattering expression and started a conversation with Alessia, asking how Mabel Quinn could be standing inside wearing mourning clothes.
Alessia naturally retorted sarcastically, "Your daughter is really capable. People who don’t know might think she’s the eldest young lady of the Quinn Family just seeing her stand there! She doesn’t even look at herself, if it weren’t for her failed engagent with Kyle, the eldest uncle would have to give her a dowry! What right does she have! She deserved to be dumped by Kyle!"
Evelina was shocked to hear this, "What, the eldest wanted to give that girl Mabel a dowry?"
"That’s right." Alessia looked at Evelina again, "What, you as her mother didn’t know?"
She really didn’t know, the Quinn Family’s dowry! Evelina’s eyes instantly filled with greed. If those dowries ca into her hands, then all those debts would be no problem.
Evelina’s mind started madly calculating again.
At night, Mabel Quinn kept vigil in the mourning hall. She ate little for dinner, having no appetite to eat. Looking at the portrait of the old Mrs. Quinn in the mourning hall always made her eyes warm, and scenes from the past would flash in front of her eyes.
In this world, another person who was good to her had left, and that feeling of loneliness overwheld her once again.
In the latter half of the night, Christopher Quinn was already yawning continuously, and his two wives, who were usually pampered, were also feeling lethargic. Edward Quinn suggested that his second brother’s family should go sleep for a while.
