Alice Conley shrugged casually, "It’s not as dramatic as you say, it’s just delivering a file, that’s all. Besides, I’m just going to bring up this file delivery thing, and maybe I won’t have to deliver any files myself in the future."
Mabel Quinn saw that Alice Conley had made up her mind, so she didn’t say anything more.
"But you, your uncle gave you a new place, have you gotten used to living there?" Alice Conley asked.
"It’s okay," Mabel Quinn replied, except for the fact that last night Kyle Kinston suddenly dragged her away, and the bag of trash was left in the hallway. Today the building supervisor was asking who threw garbage in the hallway yesterday, and she awkwardly said it was her who accidentally dropped it and forgot.
Then she received quite the lecture from the supervisor about "This is my ho, cleanliness depends on everyone," which made her feel like she was back in elentary school.
"That’s good." Her friend managed to move out of that chaotic place, which made her feel more at ease.
In the afternoon, Alice Conley headed to Howards Corp. At the lobby of the building, the front desk staff greeted her with wide smiles and an extrely respectful attitude. Alice Conley guessed they probably didn’t know that she and Dorian Howards had already fallen out, otherwise, they wouldn’t be treating her like this.
Alice Conley made her way unimpeded to the floor where the CEO’s office was located and saw Dorian Howards’ secretary, Catherine Willis.
Catherine Willis smiled when she saw Alice Conley, "You’re here. Lately, Director Howards has been in a really bad mood, probably seeing you today will cheer him up a bit."
Hearing this, Alice Conley’s face fell on the spot, seeing her would probably make Dorian Howards’ mood worse.
"Uh... this is the Studio’s monthly report; could you please pass it to Dorian—uh, Director Howards, and also ntion that in the future, our Studio’s reports should be delivered by Wilfred or so other colleague? I think he might agree to that." Alice Conley said.
Catherine Willis raised an eyebrow but didn’t take the file folder, instead asking, "Did you and Director Howards have a fight? Is that why he’s been in such a bad mood these days?"
Alice Conley nearly stumbled, about to slip. How could she be so perceptive!
"We didn’t fight." She responded.
But before Catherine Willis could let out a breath, she was startled by Alice Conley’s next words.
"We totally broke it off."
Catherine Willis was stunned, "You and Director Howards, is it really beyond repair?"
Alice Conley nodded seriously, "Yep, so give him the file, please. I think it’s best if I don’t see him, otherwise..."
Before she could finish, the door to the CEO’s office suddenly opened, and Dorian Howards walked out, "Secretary Wei, today’s eting minutes..." And then, he stopped abruptly upon seeing a figure.
Alice Conley sighed inwardly, looked at Dorian Howards in the distance, and hurriedly explained, "I’m just here to submit the Studio’s monthly report, I really didn’t intend to appear in front of you, and look, maybe next ti soone else can deliver the monthly report."
She rattled off quickly, but he just stared at her coldly and said, "Co into my office." Then, he ignored her and walked into the CEO’s office first.
Alice Conley bit her lip, while Catherine Willis cast a sympathetic look at her.
