Her silence made him sneer and his heart turn even colder, "Alice Conley, I said I would grant your wish to never be with you in this life. You’re pregnant now. Whether you want to give birth or not, it’s up to you. Whatever responsibility you want to bear, you can say it. I can give how much child support you ask for every month, or I can raise the child myself, in short, I can agree to all your conditions, except for marriage. I won’t marry you just because of a child."
Alice Conley opened her mouth, but didn’t know what to say. His words couldn’t be clearer. She thought that after having a child, all the obstacles between them could be cleared away.
But it turns out, that’s not the case.
It turns out he no longer believes her words, nor would he be joyful or moved by the fact that there’s a child between them.
He and she, have already missed their chance. Did this child co too late? If this child had co earlier, would there have been a possibility of reconciliation between her and him?
Or should it be said that she was too foolish, too afraid of others’ strange looks, didn’t go to another Hospital for confirmation, only to foolishly trust what that doctor said, falling into a trap.
"Dorian Howards, if I said I love you, more than myself, would you believe it?" She fixedly stared at him, her eyes already shrouded in mist.
"If you truly loved , you wouldn’t have chosen to hurt ti and ti again." He said quietly, his gaze returning to the computer screen, not even sparing her a glance.
She gave a bitter smile, because she loved too deeply, she chose to hurt repeatedly. But saying these words again would only be self-humiliation, wouldn’t it?
"Dorian Howards." She said softly, "I’ve said everything I need to say, so this ti, there is no misunderstanding. I understand your intentions clearly. I won’t trouble you about the child any longer."
After finishing this sentence, she turned and walked out of the office.
When the door of the CEO’s office closed again, Dorian Howards finally lifted his head, looking at the now tightly closed door, and ran his hand wildly through his hair, heavily leaning back in his chair.
A child... Is there a child between them now? If... not for the child, if she just loved him and wanted to return to him, how happy he would be?
But now, the existence of this child feels like a mockery to him.
Everything she said and did was only because of the child...

Mabel Quinn didn’t see Alice Conley return to the Studio after work. She wondered how things went with Alice Conley, whether she and Dorian Howards had reconciled. Alice had gone to see Dorian Howards over three hours ago, whatever needed to be discussed should have been discussed by now, right?
Mabel Quinn called Alice Conley, but her phone was turned off. Was Alice Conley’s phone out of power? Mabel Quinn speculated silently as she took the bus back to the Apartnt Complex.
Yet inexplicably, she still felt uneasy, there was sothing unusual about the phone being off, why did it have to turn off at that mont?
Back at the Apartnt Complex, she dialed Alice Conley’s phone again, still off.
