Kyle Kinston lowered his eyelids lightly, his face showing an expression Dorian Howards had never seen before—a childlike look of bewildernt, as if not knowing what to do.

Mabel Quinn hadn’t seen Kyle Kinston co to her place for als for two days in a row, which was quite strange. Had he figured sothing out? Is that why he didn’t co?
However, that evening, when she turned on the TV, she saw a news broadcast ntioning that because of border trade issues, bilateral relations were tense. Kinston Group had interests involved, and with the governnt’s assistance, Kyle Kinston went to the border to participate in a eting on border trade negotiations as a trade representative.
Currently, the negotiations have ended, and the parties from both countries involved in the eting have reached an agreent. The news didn’t show a close-up of Kyle Kinston’s face; it only captured the image of him and several others walking out of a building, surrounded by layers of guards.
Has he been over there at the border these past two days?!
Mabel was stunned for a mont, suddenly feeling an inexplicable urge to see his face. Yet, until the news ended, she still didn’t see his face appear on the screen, only the not-so-close shots of him captured by the cara.
Good heavens, what’s going on?! Didn’t she want Kyle Kinston to stay away from her life and not appear again? Why did she just wish she could see his face on the screen?
Is it because he’s been showing up so often lately? Not seeing him for two days all of a sudden made her want to see him?
Vigorously shaking her head, she simply switched to a different channel and started watching a variety show.
Just when the variety show was halfway through, the doorbell suddenly rang.
Mabel got up in confusion. It was already late, almost 10 PM—who would be visiting her at this hour?
As she leaned close to the peephole, she could hardly believe her eyes at the face appearing on the other side.
Good heavens, it’s Kyle Kinston!
But how could he show up here so late? Wasn’t he supposed to still be at the border? She even watched the news about him at the border just an hour ago!
The doorbell rang again.
Only then did Mabel co to her senses and opened the door. Kyle Kinston’s figure appeared right in front of her.
He was still wearing that iron-gray suit, his handso face showing a hint of exhaustion. As soon as she opened the door, he stepped in and bent down, resting his head on her shoulder, "I’m back..."
Mabel paused, biting her lip slightly, but she didn’t push Kyle Kinston away. Perhaps it was the weariness on his face, or maybe it was those simple words of his that stirred a sense of pity.
Her shoulder felt heavy, as if he had placed all the weight of his body onto her, making it seem like it was her supporting him at this mont.
"You... weren’t you at the border? How co you’re here?" she asked.
"You knew?" he seed sowhat surprised.
"The news earlier ntioned that you went to the border for negotiations and said both sides reached an agreent," she replied.
"Yes, we reached that in the afternoon. As soon as things over there were settled, I took a flight back," he said, wanting nothing but to see her as soon as it was over.
Mabel calculated the ti when she saw the news, around 3 or 4 PM in the afternoon, and estimated the flight ti from the border. It seed Kyle Kinston had co straight to her place as soon as he landed.
