As soon as he said this, Edward Quinn’s face suddenly stiffened, and after a long while, he said bitterly, "It’s all my fault." Beyond that, he said nothing more.

Mabel Quinn was suddenly aware that she shouldn’t have asked this question at all. By asking, she undoubtedly made her uncle relive past pain.

Her heart felt heavy, and that evening, as she was looking at a photograph, Kyle Kinston ca over and said, "What’s wrong? You’re staring blankly at the photo."

"I went to see my uncle today, and only then did I find out that my dad also liked Clover," Mabel murmured. Even though she had never t Clover, she felt as if her life was surrounded by this person.

Both her uncle and father had feelings for Clover, and the apartnt complex she now lived in was the sa one Clover had lived in back then.

"But maybe my dad’s fondness for Clover wasn’t as deep as my uncle’s," Mabel continued. "That’s why my dad later got married and had children, whereas my uncle, all these years, has never married or had children."

Even though her uncle led the entire Quinn Family, even though there were quite a few other family branches besides the main family, he still gave the impression of being a solitary figure.

"If it’s not the person you want to marry, rather than reluctantly finding soone, it’s better not to marry and have kids," Kyle Kinston said. "If it were up to , I’d make the sa choice."

Mabel looked up at Kyle Kinston.

He gave a low laugh, "If I hadn’t t you." Then he would have ended up all alone.

"But truly being unmarried and childless... it just feels too pitiful," Mabel said, especially as she looked at the cheerful expressions of the three people in the photo. Thinking of the subsequent conclusion... it made her feel even more heartbroken. Now, of the three, one was dead, one disappeared, and the other was guarding a vast family estate, yet utterly alone. "I really don’t know what mistake my uncle made back then that would make Clover leave him, and why she hasn’t co to find him again all these years. If she knew he has been waiting for her all this ti, maybe she would co back, right? Maybe she would forgive my uncle?"

"Alright, don’t think about it anymore." Kyle Kinston withdrew the photo from her hand and placed it on the bedside table. "Since you pity your uncle so much, how about pitying too? In the future, if we ever have any argunts, you can hit or scold , but please don’t just leave like Clover did, making it impossible for to find you."

Hit him, scold him? Mabel couldn’t help but imagine a TV show where a little wife argues with her husband, but sohow it’s not quite synonymous with Kyle Kinston at all.

"How could I ever beat you? Leaving outright would be simpler!" she said casually, originally just a playful remark, but his face suddenly changed, becoming extrely solemn, his gaze intensely fixed on her, even his body seed to tremble slightly, "Promise , you won’t disappear!"

Mabel was stunned, his deanor at that mont made her feel a kind of fear, "Kyle, what’s wrong?"

"Promise , say it, you won’t disappear!" He was insistent that she make this promise.

A chill went through her as she suddenly rembered that his mother had left his father while pregnant with him, and by the ti his father found them, all that remained was a corpse.
