"Relax, he’s actually a pretty good-tempered person most of the ti," she said. At least in front of her, he had a good temper, even if they had conflicts, he wouldn’t hurt her. Alice Conley was quite certain about that.
Seeing this, Daxton could only nod and told her, "If anything cos up, call ." Then he drove off.
Dorian Howards looked at Alice Conley, who was staring at the departing car, seemingly lost in thought, and couldn’t help but say sourly, "What, have you really fallen for that guy? You’re that unwilling to part ways?"
She rolled her eyes at him, too lazy to explain that it was their initial plan for a three-person date that she was unwilling to let go of! It was all arranged; Jacob Fletcher would join them for dinner today, and the three of them could watch a movie and sing karaoke together. It sounded like a beautiful date; she could see two handso guys together, a dream co true.
But now, everything was completely ssed up by Dorian Howards.
"Go on, what do you want to talk to about?" she asked.
"What do you want for lunch?" He deflected the question with another question.
"Anything’s fine, I’m not picky," she said, not a trace of embarrassnt or hesitation in her voice.
Dorian was speechless. Not picky? Then who was the Alice Conley he knew before?
"Get in the car first, let’s find a place to eat and talk," Dorian said.
Alice shrugged and followed him to his car, getting into the passenger seat.
While she fastened her seatbelt, he glanced at her still flat belly. Right now, she looked much the sa as before, but inside her, she was already nurturing their child.
"The things I bought for you and the baby before, have you used them?" he asked abruptly.
"Ah? They’re kept, but haven’t been used yet," she said. "You shouldn’t buy so many things next ti. I don’t even know if the baby will be a boy or girl, and you bought so much, for both boys and girls — isn’t that a waste? Besides, so of what you bought are for toddlers, and won’t be usable until the child is 2 or 3 years old!"
"If it’s good, then I buy it. It doesn’t cost much anyway," he said.
Thinking about it, with his inco, those things were indeed insignificant, but for her, they were still quite valuable.
"Anyway, don’t buy them anymore. The maternity clothes you gave are enough for ten pregnancies." So many pieces, how could she possibly wear them all? "But by the way, how did you know my size?" She didn’t recall telling him, but those clothes fit her perfectly.
"A few glances and it’s clear," he said.
Glances... She suddenly rembered their ti in the Tavern room before when they had been that close... Everything about her had naturally been seen clearly by him.
Alice Conley’s cheeks involuntarily reddened. Just then, as Dorian was about to start the car, her phone rang. This number... she squinted slightly and then pressed the answer button.
As expected, the voice of Dorian Howards’ mother, Gemma, ca through, "Is this Miss Conley? I was wondering when you might be free for a eting. I have so things I’d like to discuss with you."
"Sure, I’m free now. How about you choose a place for us to et?" Alice Conley suggested.
