Even though she knew that the current version of him was actually an illusion, maybe after a good sleep, he would be back to normal, and this version would no longer exist.
By that ti, the normal Kyle wouldn’t rember any of this. Whatever she said wouldn’t matter; it was only for her to know.
However, looking into those phoenix-like eyes, she didn’t want to lie or brush things off.
Her silence seed to make him even more anxious, "Sister... don’t want to?" There was a hint of undeniable disappointnt in his tone, and the light in those eyes seed to dim.
Mabel Quinn shook her head, and once again reached out, gently patting his head, caressing his black hair, "No, I don’t mind. When you grow up, I am willing to be your bride."
Yes, she was willing. Willing to marry him, willing to spend her life with him, and even more willing to use all her strength to love him, to help him forget those unhappy past mories.
"Really?" he asked in surprise.
"Really, let’s make a pinky promise," she said.
So, he laughed happily, hooking his finger with hers enthusiastically as they made the promise.
"Pinky swear, hang it there, a hundred years unchanged, sister, you can’t lie," he declared.
"I won’t, I absolutely won’t lie," she softly smiled and said.
Then, they continued to watch the animation, not knowing how long they had been watching, until Mabel Quinn, feeling drowsy, fell asleep leaning on the side of his hospital bed, until sothing warm touched her lips.
With a feeling of caution, it was a kiss...soone was kissing her.
Mabel Quinn abruptly opened her eyes, only to find that it was Kyle Kinston kissing her.
"Kyle?!" she exclaid in surprise.
And the one who was kissing her suddenly pulled back, "Sister!"
As soon as Mabel Quinn heard these words, she knew that Kyle hadn’t returned to normal but was still in that childlike state of a 5/6-year-old.
Only, at this mont, his face was flushed red, as if he had done sothing wrong, and his expression was embarrassed.
"You just...kissed ?" Mabel Quinn lightly touched her lips with her finger, sowhat surprised.
His face flushed even redder, but he nodded and said, "Yes, because Sister said she was willing to be my bride, so... I just wanted to kiss Sister, because grooms always kiss their brides."
Mabel Quinn blinked, feeling defeated by this reasoning.
"Does Sister hate my kiss?" he asked, seemingly a bit worried.
No, she didn’t dislike it. She liked him to begin with, how could she hate his kiss? It was just that thinking about his current childlike state made her feel a bit strange.
Mabel Quinn shook her head, "I don’t hate it."
"Then can I kiss Sister again?" he asked again.
Huh? Mabel Quinn was sweating. If it were the normal Kyle, she wouldn’t mind a kiss, but with Kyle in this state... However, his current gaze and expression made her feel unable to refuse!
Rejecting felt like sothing stuck in her throat, and she couldn’t get it out no matter what.
"Sister?" he was still eagerly hoping, yet seed afraid she would refuse.
Alright, she was defeated! Strange or not, as long as he was happy! So, Mabel Quinn nodded to Kyle Kinston, and imdiately, he cheered, "Then Sister, lean a little closer."
