It must be said, once Alice Conley lets go of things, they genuinely beco no big deal anymore.
Sotis, Mabel Quinn actually feels her friend’s mindset is quite nice.
Ti slips by little by little. When the ti for the wedding ceremony arrives, Alice Conley, arm in arm with her father, steps onto the crystal platform and walks toward Dorian Howards, standing at the front of the wedding banquet.
The surrounding lights all dim down, leaving their glow solely upon Dorian Howards, Alice Conley, and her father.
Mabel Quinn watches as Alice Conley, in a pure white wedding dress, accompanied by her father, walks towards the person she loves the most. This scene is so beautiful.
Mabel Quinn sincerely blesses her friend in her heart, but her mind involuntarily drifts once again to her own father, the one who saved her life even though they weren’t related by blood.
If her father were alive, then on her wedding day, she too could be linked arm in arm with him, walking towards Kyle.
But this scene is one that will never happen; her father...will never be able to place her hand into another man’s who loves her.
When she sees Alice’s father place Alice’s hand into Dorian Howards’, tears start sliding uncontrollably from Mabel Quinn’s eyes.
"Why are you crying?" A low voice whispers next to Mabel Quinn’s ear, and then that gentle hand uses a handkerchief to softly wipe away her tears.
Fortunately, they are in a corner at the mont, surrounded by darkness, so no one notices them.
"I’m happy for Alice..." Mabel Quinn says, "And then, I thought of my father. Kyle, our future wedding, I..."
"If no one guides your hand to enter, then...I’ll guide your hand and we’ll enter together," Kyle Kinston says.
Mabel Quinn sniffles lightly and gives a soft "hmm." He understands her; he knows what she regrets and what she wants.
On the stage, Alice Conley and Dorian Howards exchanged rings. Dorian Howards said, "The greatest fortune of my life is eting the woman before . She made realize it’s possible for one person to love another so deeply. In this world, there exists soone whose happiness makes happy, whose sadness makes sad."
Mabel Quinn froze; these words hadn’t been in their rehearsal yesterday but were added impromptu by Dorian Howards today, as if spontaneously spoken.
"Alice, are you willing to be tethered to for life? I don’t know what our future holds, but I will use my life to love you, love our children." Dorian Howards earnestly tells Alice Conley, gently lifting her wedding veil.
"I am willing." Tears glisten in Alice Conley’s eyes, and then she fiercely hugs Dorian Howards’s neck, proactively kissing his lips.
With a man like this, what more could she ask for?
Onstage, the newlyweds kiss passionately, surrounded by thunderous applause and cheers.
Mabel Quinn claps vigorously, cheering for them in her heart. Suddenly, she feels a gentle breath sprinkle by her ear, and then Kyle Kinston’s cool voice, with a kind of special tenderness, resonates near her ear, "Mabel, regarding our future, I’ll place my life in your palm, for you to control, as long as you keep loving ."
