However, the others all had a knowing look on their faces.
"Mr. Kinston hasn’t eaten yet, has he? Why not join us for a simple al?" the director of the crew suggested.
Kyle Kinston readily agreed, "Sure." Naturally, the person sitting on the other side of Mabel Quinn moved over to make room for him to sit, and they called a waiter to add another set of dishes and chopsticks.
Mabel Quinn was now feeling overwheld; who could have thought things would turn out this way, with Kyle and Daniel Harris eating at the sa table?
"Co to think of it, it’s been a long ti since I’ve shared a table with you, Mr. Kinston," Daniel Harris said casually.
"It has been a long ti." Kyle Kinston slightly curved his lips, "If Mr. Harris would like to dine together next ti, feel free to co to Kinston House. I will certainly entertain Mr. Harris warmly."
"No need to be so polite," Daniel said.
The two n, though seemingly talking and laughing, had not a hint of genuine amusent in their eyes.
Suddenly, Kyle Kinston’s brow furrowed, and he grabbed Mabel Quinn’s hand abruptly, gripping it so tightly that she let out a cry of surprise.
Imdiately, everyone’s gaze at the table turned toward Mabel Quinn, then dropped to the table where Kyle and Mabel’s hands were clasped, each contemplating their own thoughts.
Once again, Mabel was awkwardly puzzled as she looked toward Kyle beside her, slightly wriggling her hand in an attempt to pull it out of his grasp, but to no avail; his grip was too tight, refusing to let her hand go.
Co on, even if you want to be affectionate, there’s no need to... uh, do it like this.
Just as Mabel was about to try withdrawing her hand again, Kyle suddenly said, "Don’t move."
"Hmm? And then?"
There was no ’and then.’ He simply picked up his chopsticks with his left hand and started eating with one hand, while his right hand never let go of hers.
Mabel’s jaw practically hit the floor—this was too over-the-top, though she knew he could apparently use both hands equally well. Eating with one hand while holding hers with the other, and in front of everyone, she could easily guess what people around them might be thinking.
Daniel Harris watched this scene unfold in front of him, his eyes growing dim. Kyle Kinston was now rightfully holding Mabel’s hand, simply because... he was the man Mabel loved.
During the entire al, Mabel felt like she was the center of attention, with everyone’s gaze occasionally flicking to their clasped hands, making her quite uneasy. Yet Kyle was completely at ease eating in front of everyone.
Finally, when Kyle finished his al, he turned to her and asked, "Ready to go back?"
"Ah, yes," Mabel was eager to leave as soon as possible.
Kyle smiled lightly and said to everyone, "Sorry, everyone, but Mabel and I have so matters to attend to, so we’ll be heading back first."
As for what kind of "matters" these were, that was left to everyone’s imagination.
Kyle stood up, and Mabel quickly grabbed her purse to leave with him, yet throughout the entire ti, Kyle never let go of Mabel’s hand.
Watching them walk out of the restaurant and into the elevator, soone couldn’t help but remark enviously, "Even while eating, they can’t bear to let go of each other’s hands. Their relationship must be really strong."
