"Do you rember this watch?" Edward Quinn placed a photo of the Titoni watch in front of Evelina.
Evelina scowled at the watch with disgust, "Asher had an identical watch, but he wouldn’t let anyone touch it. He kept it well stored and only occasionally wore it. Once, I saw soone offering a high price for this old model of the Titoni watch and wanted him to sell it, but he scolded harshly instead."
Even now, Evelina is still angry about it. It’s just a watch, but her husband valued it imnsely. Obviously, it could be sold for tens of thousands of money to improve the family’s conditions, yet her husband wouldn’t listen to reason.
"And what about the watch now?" Edward Quinn asked again.
"Sold long ago. Not long after Asher died, I sold it to a second-hand store. Speaking of which, though he carried the Quinn surna, his living conditions were far different from you, the esteed mbers of the family. After he died, I was just a woman with two children to support. If it weren’t for his death benefits, who knows how we would have survived?" Evelina said with a sneer on her face. "He often talked about you, always taking Mabel to the Quinn family mansion. But what did he gain from it? How much savings did he leave behind when he died?! You claim to be his cousin, and you even had a childhood connection with him. So what? What did you give him? How did you help him? You live a life of luxury, while your cousin lived in hardship."
Edward Quinn pursed his thin lips bitterly, not refuting. If he hadn’t been on bad terms with Asher, if he had been willing to lend Asher a hand, then at least in life, Asher would have been better off.
Evelina continued to vent her dissatisfaction, "That dead Asher, always shielding that damned Mabel, and the only longevity lock that the Quinn family worked so hard to secure was given to Mabel. He didn’t even think, Cecil is his biological son!"
Edward Quinn was suddenly shocked, the longevity lock?! That’s sothing only the children of the Quinn family could possibly have. Right, he rembered now. Evelina looked at him strangely, "Why are you asking this?"
"Answer !" He demanded fiercely, his eyes filled with a blood-red intensity.
Evelina was startled, hurriedly replied, "Asher... by the ti he brought the child, it was already winter, long past sumr. The child was already several months old then. That birthday, he just filled it in haphazardly."
